A nice informative nature info center. Easy interpretive walks with some information signs, and a hard 3/4 mile hike to a lookout over Avon.

My wife and I decided to take an educational hike during our trip so we signed up for a guided tour at the Mountains Science Center, easy to say - it was one of our favorite things to do this trip!
Our tour guide Reese was extremely knowledgeable plus extremely friendly and welcoming. Loved learning how animals and plants are continuously surprising is with all the ways they adapt to the weather and the environment!
If you're taking a trip to Avon Colorado I haggle recommend taking one of these guided tours.
Thank you Reese!

Awesome first time experience snow shoeing! Reese was excellent and kind with helping us get our gear to answering all our wildlife questions. He was super informative and taught us about winter survival for animals, plants, and how we can be better stewards of winter survival for our surroundings

Sometimes life gives you a hard reset so that you can get back to nature. Our snowshoeing experience was all of this and much more. Which it helps to have an exceptional guide like Tori. She was so informative but she meet us at our own pace. Like seriously meet us at our pace. The altitude will make you feel like my 600 pound life (reality show reference). We were going extremely slow but Tori took this opportunity to show us some hidden facts about the local animals and it’s supportive environment. I wish these photos could truly show what we witnessed on the slopes. Breathtaking Views!!!!

Had a great time with Maddie today at Vail! She was so knowledgeable and sweet and really helped with those falls! Loved learning about Colorado and the ecosystem that makes it so beautiful! We also enjoyed our hike Tuesday night with Riley and Tori! They allowed me to go at my own pace to view the reward at the end. So worth it! Highly recommend if your not from the area or even if you are some amazing sights and interesting science! Thanks guys!

Loved our visit here! We started with a Guided Bird & Nature Walk with our Naturalist, Alex. She was very informative and kept everyone engaged. Then we ended with a hike up to the Avon Overlook. Man that was one heck of a short mile hike. Pretty steep path at times.

This is a gem of a stop for the whole family! We just returned here for a short stop because we liked it so well when we came through 7 years ago. It's just of the highway, so you can make a short stop or stay and explore for the day!
They have excellent educational displays about the Rocky Mountain ecosystem for children, including information adults will find interesting. From spring through fall they have gardens outside. There are short trails on the property that are dog friendly (may be muddy).
There are picnic areas for outdoor eating when weather is good.

I urge anyone who is in Avon to check out the facility and donate to their cause. They are a non-profit and rely on fundraising and grants to continue their mission.
The Center offers a myriad of programs and hikes for all levels of fitness and interest. They also have programs for kids.
I went on a hike with a group and a guide from this Center last weekend. It was a very enjoyable experience.
We went to the Holy Cross Wilderness and hiked up the 7 Sisters Lakes trail. It was not a trail for everyone. It was rocky and steep in places, but it was beautiful and great to be in the outdoors. And the guide was very helpful in showing us the way and keeping us on track.
