Warning - charged 94,000 SEK, but did not do the job My agreement with Bjärke Bygg AB's Peter Vatsöy included several works, such as building three smaller interior walls, inserting a reused door in one wall, widening a doorway, installing a new ceiling in two bedrooms and a small hallway, and opening up the hallway floor to repair and replace old rotted boards in the crawl space. But it was a disaster - see attached photos. 1) A door frame was inserted, they forgot to remove the old threshold and put it on top of a parquet floor. The height of a threshold that should not have been there is now 5 cm. 2) The doorway was widened, but not only in the direction we ordered but also in the other direction, which resulted in the electric light switch on that side being torn off and the back of the door frame being carved out and placed over the light switch. A sawn board of poor quality was used as the lining, one side is beveled while the sawn side is raw. 3) They forgot to put up a wall against which a new bedroom ceiling was to be nailed to get the ceiling level and then started to put the ceiling in the wrong way. 4) The hall floor was opened up, where they found an old rat or mouse nest that smelled bad. They scooped out parts of the sawdust the floor was insulated with, laid in mineral wool and sawdust and covered the floor with raw tongue and groove boards intended for ceilings and walls and therefore not for floors, which also caused the floor to sway when walked on. The raw joists were attached with nails and joint foam, which gave a level difference of up to 6 mm. The original task, to replace rotten material in the crawl space, was completely forgotten and the smell of the nest also returned because not enough old material was removed. In addition, the doors to one room were taped shut and had notes on them with the text NB! The door must not be opened. Despite this, they entered the space completely without my knowledge and, among other things, smeared a table I had just inherited with grout. I stopped the work after a couple of days and the collaboration completely afterwards, the answer I received from Vatsöy was that they had carried out the work professionally and an invoice of 94,000 kronor before Rot deductions instead of the agreed 30,000 kronor after Rot deductions for a satisfactory job with satisfactory material. I have now had to pay other carpenters to tear down and redo Bjärke Bygg's work and have had to buy new material. I filed a complaint with ARN, who has referred me to court because the errors are so numerous and extensive. Vatsöy refuses to refund the money and compensate me.
