Beautiful views of the water and several resting spots near the water, with both rapids and calm water. We started the walk from the parking lot, not taking the road directly past the parking lot, but the next one further east. We followed the path to the cottages and then turned left onto the narrow forest path downhill (starting with a dotted line on the map) to avoid the elevation changes on the pathless north side. Once at the water's edge, we followed the road east for a short distance along the rapids (very beautiful), passing a few cottages, then backtracked and continued around the south side to the restroom/shelter/rest area. You can swim, picnic, etc. The small forest path downhill, especially around the calmer part of the water (west side), is narrow and sometimes slopes downward. Wear sturdy shoes. We saw a wooden staircase on the south side (so you might also reach it via that route). From the rest area/restrooms, we followed the wide, quiet path uphill, with beautiful views of fields, which leads to houses and then the main road. The last bit back to the car was a bit dangerous along the busy road, but we didn't want to take the same route back.
