After many attempts, we finally got a flight – which is understandable since safety always comes first. However, the contact with the owner who is responsible for the booking was remarkable. When you try to reach him, he is often busy drinking beer, or he answers from the toilet, which gives an unprofessional impression. You often get a rude response and are told to call back later. It is unclear to me how Bengt, as the owner, can run the company at all with this lack of service. He really needs to take a charm course – his customer service is terribly rude. But in the end, the flight was cancelled. Here I want to give our pilot five stars – he was extremely educational when we were going to inflate the balloon, while Bengt was running around and being rude. We had fantastic weather and flew for a good while in calm winds. However, things got a bit critical during the landing when it started to get dark, and the flight ended in a crash landing in the forest. Our pilot was forced to aim for a road to land before it got too dark. A couple of pine trees were smoking, but the pilot was very collected and we had to stop cars to collect the balloon together on a highway. When the owner Bengt arrived with the escort car, he started to yell at us. Angry passengers who wanted to go home were scolded, and his focus was mostly on not damaging the balloon. There was no plan from Bengt for how the passengers would get back to the takeoff site, no reflective vests when we ran around the road, and no help from him when all the passengers were struggling with his crashed balloon. In summary: The pilot was fantastic – calm, educational and safe. The owner, on the other hand, completely lacks a sense of customer service and empathy for passengers who have just experienced a dramatic crash landing.
