In addition, a polished 18-carat gold ring was recommended without a single question being asked about how my partner lives or works. He is a craftsman and uses his hands daily in his work. The result is that the ring has become scratched and looks worn almost immediately. Here too, no advice was given on what was appropriate based on the customer's lifestyle. When we came to collect the rings, it turned out that my ring was the wrong size. The staff then reacted with the comment "haven't you tried the rings on before?" - even though this was a surprise to me and that my partner had already tried on his ring with their help. The comment was perceived as condescending and completely ignored the fact that it was their advice that was deficient from the start. If the staff had done a basic needs analysis, it would also have been obvious that this was a surprise proposal without the opportunity for me to try on the ring size in advance. In such a situation, one should either clearly advise against rings without an open purchase or suggest temporary solutions, such as a loaner ring or a trial ring, until the correct size can be determined. None of this was mentioned. When my partner also regretted his choice of ring and wanted to cancel the purchase, after leaving the store to transfer money, he was informed that the order had already been sent – ​​even though he had not yet returned to the premises. The purchase could not be stopped. When we received the ring, we were also told that if engraving had been chosen, it would not have been possible to change the size at all – something that was also not informed about when purchasing. It was therefore a pure coincidence that this did not become another problem. This was supposed to be a joyful and memorable experience. For us, it instead became stress, disappointment and the feeling of having been poorly guided through a very important purchase. The most remarkable thing is that Guldfynd seems to lack procedures for customers who buy rings as a surprise, even though this is probably very common. We have now bought a wedding ring from another goldsmith with clear information, professional advice and respect for the situation. The difference in treatment was noticeable. I will not shop at Guldfynd again and cannot recommend them to anyone who wants to make a safe and well-thought-out ring purchase.
