Hultsfreds Turistinformation

The tourist information office is practically impossible to find in December. If you spot the "Turistbyro" sign on the side of the road outside the village, you'll eventually see another sign, large and bold, pointing to a large, attractive parking lot on the right. However, it turns out to be a general municipal parking lot with various town hall buildings. In front of one of these buildings, there's a map of the town with the international blue tourist information symbol. If you then check Google Maps, you'll discover that the tourist information office is actually located in the town library – again, without any signage. The staff there were friendly and genuinely helpful, but their expertise clearly doesn't lie in local knowledge and information about the town's attractions, which they made quite clear. My questions about tourist attractions went unanswered. Perhaps my Swedish wasn't good enough. They did answer my question about car rental, but it was the wrong information. At least the "wrong" person knew the "right" one. The fact that no vehicles were available at short notice isn't the library staff's fault… Despite everything, it was a positive experience. With so many gray and perhaps sunless days, it's good to know there's a well-stocked library.

Turistbyrån finns i biblioteket, tyvärr inte synlig från utsidan. Mycket hjälpsam och vänlig personal.
