Overhyped and Disappointing Dining Experience in Växjö We returned to this restaurant with high expectations after a great visit a year ago, but sadly this time it was a major disappointment. From the start, things felt off. Service was slow. Even ordering a drink took quite a while. One of the cocktails, a coriander-based drink, barely tasted of coriander except when sipping directly on the garnish, while the passionfruit cocktail was the only highlight at the bar. Champagne was good, but the wine pairings were poorly chosen: a sweet “Riesling” that tasted cheap and an underwhelming red that felt pushed on us rather than offered. The food was the real letdown. Despite pre-ordering, dishes took long to arrive, and when they did, they were inconsistent at best. Oysters (flown in from France) were offered first, but having had a bad oyster experience in the past, we declined. What followed bordered on farce: a “replacement” dish for one of us turned out to be nothing but a dollop of mayonnaise with crispy onions on top. More like a joke than food. Other dishes were no better: A mushroom “soup” that tasted like drinking cold gravy topped with oily chive oil. A squid dish so oversalted it was practically inedible. Finally, a beef tartare that was actually ok. The one truly enjoyable part of the savory dishes. A fish course with Jerusalem artichoke purée and chanterelles was poorly balanced, with only a few small pieces of fish worth eating. The main course, entrecôte, was impossibly chewy and sinewy, impossible to eat with chopsticks, and ultimately left untouched. When staff saw the untouched plates, they were professional enough to offer a discount or an alternative dish, but by then the disappointment was overwhelming. Desserts felt rushed: first a carelessly plated sorbet, then an extra surprise dessert of ice cream with lingon and white chocolate. The flavors here were decent, but far too little, far too late. On top of that, basic service slipped, our water carafe sat empty most of the evening. In the end, even after a discount, we essentially paid over 1,300 SEK for one good tartare and a few drinks. The setting of the restaurant was pleasant, but sitting next to the kitchen door with constant staff traffic ruined the atmosphere. Overall, the experience felt sloppy, poorly executed, and highly overrated compared to the reputation and the excellent meal we enjoyed last year. Based on this visit, we cannot recommend it, and will not be returning.

Fantastic culinary experience with 'Chef's Choice'. Each dish - might have been 6 or 7 - was an explosion of taste.

At first everything was going somewhat smoothly. We expected a lot and we knew we were going to spend tiny bit extra on this evening. Ordered snacks, both got starters, middle "meal" and main course. Starters were interesting and nothing I've tasted before. The second meat course was good. But the music stopped half way to the dining and there was a dead silence except us speaking and our neighbouring table speaking whilst having a mouthful. The waiters forgot that we ordered drinks so we needed to remind them when food finally came. We took almost 3 hours in the restaurant since the food took long but the portions are very tiny. We were informed that you usually need at least 2 orders to feel full. The last wait was tedious in silence and waiters were very hard to contact. They do not look at your table and ordering drinks became impossible as they avoided all eye contact. We sat without drinks for 45 minutes and no food. When the main course finally came we had decided not to spend anymore more money for the facility when we received little to no service. The main course ryggbiff had big fat chunks and needed to spit half of the food out as you had no fork or knife. The kimchi fries that came with it were the saltiest thing I've ever tasted. With soy foam as a sauce to the meat and the overly salted pommes we couldn't finish due to the over the moon saltiness. Paid around 880 for one person and over 900 for other and it was not worth our time nor money. People speak too highly of this place. The restaurant is very bland on how it looks. Should've skipped main course. Wouldn't recommend to a friend.
