Our one week at Natur & Framtids Gula Dala was amazing. The jacuzzi, the deck overlooking the fields and 'private' valley, the forest and lake right around the corner, the amazing wildlife (deer, wild boars, eagles and even a moose!) we saw and went looking for each morning and evening...it was everything we wanted. The old, wooden house is like walking into an old Swedish museum, lots of charm and filled with hunting throphies. The bathroom was modern, including a washing machine, and since we rented the jacuzzi we also had access to the sauna with two extra showers and a toilet. Kitchen also has everything you need. We do agree that the house needs a thorough clean and check-up. Most of the furniture is worn out, wobbly or has stains. Same goes for the matresses and bedsheets. One of the throphies in the kids' bedroom fell down, and a drawer of a dressoir simply gave in when we tried opening it. Some of the chairs are too unstable to sit on. The house had 4 bikes parked next to it, but all of them were broken. Also, lots of dead flies and bugs in between the windows and on the floor in the hallway - a good deep clean is needed. The place just needs some love and care. It sure deserves that. Martin, the owner, was really friendly and always available to call, but communication via email could have been better - or perhaps a clearer description of the house and the way check-in & check-out works on the website + an overview list in the house (with wifi etc) might help. He's a really busy guy, but he arranged a boat for us in no time. Great location, 50 min from Stockholm, a scenic 15 min to big supermarkets and close to so many beautiful naturreservatets in the Nynashamn area. We loved its quiet, secluded location and everything outdoor, plus all the charm of the old house, so we would definitely book again.
