Nordic Refuge

During our trip through Sweden we stayed at the Nordic Refuge for four days and we couldn't have hoped for a more welcoming and beautiful accommodation. The rooms are spacious, thoughtfully decorated and furnished and it's a great place to unwind and relax. The hosts, Anne and Francois, are very welcoming and offer great tips for activities and places to eat in the area. I wish we would have stayed even longer, as it is such a wonderful spot, located between lakes and lots of green scenery, and the refuge itself is just a great place overall. If you are looking for a unique B&B to stay, I can only recommend the Nordic Refuge and see myself going back there as well at some point.

We stayed at Nordic Refuge in Fröskog as a family with two kids and enjoyed our time there a lot. The house itself is a beautifully converted former school building with spacious rooms and a very special charm. There is a generous living room (where breakfast is served as well unless you're having it outside with a beautiful view over the lake) where you can read a book and the children can play. It’s located in a small village surrounded by forests and lakes, with many stunning nature reserves just a short drive (or hike / bike ride) away – perfect for exploring the outdoors. Everything was very clean, and the hosts François and Anne were extremely kind and welcoming. The breakfast was absolutely top notch: fresh bread from the local bakery, a daily selection of fruit, compotes etc, and excellent coffee prepared in a French press. We left with great memories and would happily return. A wonderful place for families and nature lovers alike!

Between the lakes and the woods lies this magical refuge – an old Swedish school transformed into a charming and beautifully designed B&B. The rooms are spacious, decorated with a refined touch of Scandinavian style. The service is attentive, and the breakfast is simply excellent. An ideal place to unwind and explore the stunning surroundings by walking, cycling, or kayaking.
