Brudsängen5 aug. 2025
Google

First thing to know - you can't really get here without a car. There's a parking area just opposite Brudsängen, but it's on the other side of a highway and there's no dedicated pedestrian path, so walking from elsewhere isn't a safe option. Brudsängen ("Bride's Bed") in Brobacka Nature Reserve is a scenic cliff reached through Nålsögat, a narrow passage between two huge stones. Stunning lake views and a tragic local legend make it special.

A small, well-maintained museum with local charm Alingsås Museum may be small in size, but it's thoughtfully arranged and well maintained. The exhibits offer an interesting overview of the town’s history, including themes like the local textile industry, traditional crafts, and daily life in earlier times. It's a quiet and informative place to spend about an hour, especially if you enjoy learning about local culture and heritage. The museum is clean and organized, and it even has toilet facilities inside, which is convenient for visitors. While it’s not a destination museum, it’s definitely worth a one-time visit if you’re in or around Alingsås. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was peaceful. A nice little cultural stop in a charming town.

Uddevalla Strandpromenad is a beautifully maintained coastal walkway that offers a relaxing and scenic experience along the fjord. It’s easily accessible by public transport, with a bus or train stop nearby followed by a pleasant 700-meter walk to the starting point. From there, it’s around a 2-kilometer stroll to reach the fjord, with wooden boardwalks, rocky landscapes, and peaceful nature along the way. There are several swimming spots where you can take a refreshing dip, and benches where you can pause and enjoy the views. The path is clean, well-marked, and family-friendly. Toilets are available along the route, and there is also parking nearby for those coming by car. Whether you're walking, swimming, or just enjoying the sea breeze, it’s a lovely spot to spend a few hours in Uddevalla.

Göteborgs Centralstation25 juli 2025

Gothenburg Central Station is a well-organized and traveler-friendly hub that connects trains, buses, and trams seamlessly. One of the most convenient features is the bag storage facility, which is easy to locate and offers a safe and secure place to store your luggage. This is especially useful if you arrive early or have a few hours to explore the city before your next journey. The station is surrounded by a wide variety of eateries – from fast food chains to cozy cafes – catering to different tastes and budgets. Whether you want a quick coffee or a proper meal, there are plenty of options. There are also ample resting areas, both inside the station and in the nearby Nils Ericson Terminal, where you can sit and relax while waiting for your transport. Another helpful feature is the presence of digital display units placed near the Nils Ericson Terminal, bus bays, and train platforms. These provide clear and timely information about arrivals, departures, and platform changes, making it easier to navigate the station even during busy hours. Overall, the station is clean, efficient, and well-maintained, offering all the essential amenities for a smooth travel experience. It's a great example of how a central transit hub should function.

I visited Trollhättan during the Fallens Dagar festival (July 18–20, 2025), and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my time in Sweden. Watching the waterfalls when the floodgates open is absolutely breathtaking – the sound, the force of the water, and the overall atmosphere make it truly special. It's a fascinating mix of nature and human engineering. Before the water release, I enjoyed a peaceful walk through Spikön, the small island right in the middle of the river. It’s a lovely green space with walking paths, benches, and beautiful views of the water from different angles. It’s also a great spot if you want a quieter experience away from the main crowd. The area around the falls is full of history, with old locks, bridges, and viewpoints like Kungsportsbron and near the Olidan power station. During the festival, the whole place comes alive with live music, food trucks, family activities, and a happy, buzzing crowd. Tip: Make sure to get to your viewing spot at least 15 minutes early before the scheduled water release – the best spots fill up fast, especially near the bridges and lock areas.

I visited Trollhättans Kyrka while exploring the area during Fallens Dagar, and it was a lovely, peaceful break from the festival crowd. The church has al charming brick exterior and a quiet, calming interior that invites you to pause and reflect. It's located just a short walk from the waterfalls and the lock area, so it's easy to visit on the way. A beautiful little piece of history in the heart of Trollhättan - definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area.

Delsjöbadet14 juli 2025
Google

Delsjön is one of the most beautiful and peaceful nature areas near Gothenburg — perfect for a day trip all year round. It's easy to reach: just take tram 5 from Brunnsparken and get off at Bögatan, then enjoy a scenic 1.5 km walk through the forest to the lake. In summer, Delsjön is full of life. There’s a small sandy beach, places to swim, sunbathe, or have a picnic or BBQ. You can also rent a canoe and explore the calm lake. There are several hiking trails around the lake — from easy walks to longer forest hikes — all surrounded by peaceful nature. In winter, the lake usually freezes and becomes a magical place for ice skating. The trails are still great for winter walks, and the whole area feels calm and quiet. It’s a wonderful spot to enjoy nature, get some fresh air, and escape the city — only 20 minutes from the centre of Gothenburg. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike
