I would like to share an observation regarding the preschool on Våmmedalsvägen. I walk past the playground every day while taking my dog for a walk, and on many occasions I have noticed that children are left alone in the upper part of the playground without any adult supervision. If a child decided to walk away, no one would notice — this has concerned me for quite some time. Unfortunately, today I witnessed something that made me stop and look more carefully. A little girl pushed a very young boy, not even two years old, and he fell down hard. He was crying loudly — clearly in distress — yet no adult came to check on him. I stood there for over five minutes, expecting someone to approach the child. During that time, I only saw staff members going in and out of the building, and the child continued to cry. It was impossible not to hear him. What was even more worrying was that two other children walked over to the little boy and pushed him again while he was still on the ground. I could no longer just watch from a distance, so I stepped closer to the fence. Only then did one of the teachers seem to notice me, and eventually she walked over to the crying child. However, before she reached him, yet another child fell from a swing — something the staff also did not appear to notice. I did speak to the teacher and shared my concern, but I am writing this in case any parents whose children attend this preschool wish to raise the issue with the management. As I mentioned, this is not the first time I have seen the teachers standing together in one place while the children — very young children — are left to “play” without proper supervision. It worries me greatly to think what could happen if a child suffered a serious injury, for example a strong hit to the head. No one would even notice that the child might need medical help, especially if the crying was assumed to be from something minor. Many dangerous situations could occur simply because the children are not being watched closely. I am writing this as a mother, and I cannot imagine my own daughter being under such “care”. I truly hope that this concern reaches the right people and leads to better supervision for the sake of the children’s safety.
mycket trevlig och kompetent personal
