Good hamburgers are always appreciated so watch out for this contender! I've passed this place multiple times before it was SmashGrillen and I've always felt there's more potential to a place like this. Things have changed. I passed by yesterday and to my surprise this new place had finally opened. I would call this place "gatukök deluxe". They have all the classics - hot dogs, falafel, kebab, but what stands out to me is their burgers. The chef was welcoming, kind and took his time to answer all my questions. I felt bold and brave today as I ordered a "Sweet Smash" with double patties, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, coleslaw and mango sauce. Many things could go wrong with this ingredients combo, but nothing did. The meat was tasty and could be distinguished from the rest of the burger which is a huge plus. The coleslaw was fresh and the mango dressing added sweetness without dominating. My saliva was flooding like Göta Älv on a rainy day and the burger left me wanting to revisit. The fries were crispy, hot and still tasted potatoes (🙏🏽). My lady had a Classic Smash and was amazed how great it tasted without cheese. She's picky, so I interpreted this as a 5/5. All in all, this place is GREAT and there are many options if you're not a hamburger fan as I am, including vegan options. The only minus is that the place isn't big, but I'm ok with that. Pay SmashGrillen a visit and thank me later.

I was in Karlstad for the day and found this place en passant. This was the most pleasant surprise I've had this trip! This place has an interesting concept. You choose if you want your kebab on/in a plate/bowl/roll/or bread and then you walk along their counter and choose your ingredients. You can choose between several meats and vegetarian/vegan options, accessories and sauces. Their kebab meat was great tasting and fresh and better than any kebab I've had in Gothenburg where I reside. I had the Döner-type kebab with half rice and half french fries and picked from a wide variety of fresh vegetables, pickles, cheeses, and sauces (I had the mixed "blandad" sauce). Their food is amazing, high quality ingredients and portion sizes are BIG. The service was great and they have a very fresh and modern atmosphere. I was really impressed by this place to be honest. Except for the classical sodas, they also have still/sparkling water and coffee accessible for their guests. 135 kr for a "Kebabtallrik", with discounts if you're a member of their club. Too bad I'm not in Karlstad still to have more. This place is a must if you are nearby and if you are a Döner-type of kebab fan just like me. HIGHLY recommended.

In my opinion this is Gothenburg's best gym for strength training, and with access 24/7. There are enough free weights to suit anybodies needs and paired dumbbells up 70 kg (the heaviest single Dumbbell is 100 kg). There is a wide variety of carefully selected machines of which the majority are Hammer Strength, a quality brand you seldomly find in commercial gyms. In case you need to tan there is one tanning bed available. This gym has given birth to many bodybuilding, fitness and strength competitors for good reasons. Exhale has a hardcore gym atmosphere, with friendly, helpful and competent members which often help each other out. This gym will suit you whether you are a beginner or professional fitness athlete. Membership prices are up to par with other gyms but the one time training fee of 80 kr. By contacting the owner you can also train past operating hours and weekends. The owner who is a former bodybuilding competitor has done a great job of keeping this gym as good as it is and I'm now training here for my 18th consecutive year. If you have yet to train at Exhale Hardcore Gym, you have missed out!
Reliable and clean grocery store. Lots of good products but you might not find all things you would in a Swedish supermarket chain. Still, Lidl has most of the things you'll need and some interesting products you won't find elsewhere.
Gothenburg's best sushi rolls. If you haven't try this place yet, you should. This place has different dishes such as Ramen, Yakiniku and dumplings to name a few. I have tried all mentioned above, but to me nothing beats the sushi rolls. Although not talkative or very service minded, this sushi chef works magic with the rolls. I always have the "Dragon roll" and the "Tempura maki". There is a certain touch to these rolls which would fall outside being traditional, but which makes them unique to Karuizawa. The flamed salmon of the dragon roll and the crispiness of the Tempura are nothing short of amazing. If there is anything to complain about it's that the pieces are quite big, but it doesn't bother me. The atmosphere is cosy but nothing out of the ordinary. If there is alot to do for the chef you might be denied ordering food, but usually you're fine after a short wait. This has put some people off but I prefer someone that is as passionate as this chef. Karuizawa always delivers. Enjoy!
There are many places in Gothenburg that are rated as the best pizza places and I've tried them all. NONE of them beats Tomas pizzeria. The ingredients are fresh and the pizza's are always great tasting. The pizza bottom always holds for lifting a slice without everything running off. The kebab (pork) is the best in the gothenburg. Good portion sizes. I HIGHLY recommend Tomas if you are craving a good pizza. On the photo you see nr 37. Joel Special (my favorite) and nr 26. Alex special. Edit: I had another round of Pizza at Tomas's 1/1 2024. It's still a 5/5 and PERFECT. Relatives had a #48 Ficherman and #41 Italian Veg +tuna. Even though I love my pizza (Joel special), I can recommend the Italian Veg + Tuna which was rich in flavors and fresh.
I am not a handy man, by any means. I initially visited another store to get some help with how to mount a TV on my wall at home. I didn't get any straight answers but more "you can try this" types of answers. We went to Bauhaus later on for something else. I asked Sven which works here and he gave me full instructions on what I need and what to do. Thank you, Sven! The customer service is amazing. This store has most of the things you need for your home. Highly recommended!
Pizza night is a cozy local pub and pizza place. You can grab a drink here and play pool as well (one table). The atmosphere is what you would expect from a local place. I ordered a take away pizza, a modified "King" which is tomato sauce, cheese, kebab meat, ham, mushrooms, onion and sauce of choice. I had the pizza without mushrooms and onions, but with pineapple instead. The pizza was good, but far from premium. The kebab was the ready made type and not sliced from a kebab skewer (snurrande kebabspett). The cheese was ok tasting and the ham didn't taste much/add much to the overall flavor. The Bernaise sauce was good. The overall size of the pizza was a bit smaller than standard. Price: 130 kr for pizza and salad. Summary: an OK local pizza place and pub with great service and kind owners, but the kebab pizza at least is not comparable to today's kebab pizza standard. Maybe their other pizza's are better.
I had the Rhodos pizza (nr 49) and Vallhamra (nr 41). In general the pizzas were good but not great. Good bottom and crust. The Rhodos lacked some flavor and the kebab meat was a bit chewy. The meat wasn't freshly sliced from the grill stand, but picked from a container, which is a direct minus. On the plus side, there was alot of meat on the pizza. Vallhamra was good in flavors but the meat wasn't high quality, not enough and not evenly distributed on the pizza as you can see on the photos. Again, chewy. This place definitely has the potential to make great pizzas but I think they need to just make a bit of extra effort. For instance, adding a bit more meat to Vallhamra wouldn't cost them much but would at least ensure some meat on each pizza slice. Still, recommended when hungry!
Friggas with extra patty - cheese, bacon, caramelized onion, salad, garlic sauce. I've had this one several times, it's my favorite. The combination of ingredients is a classic. Good fluffy brioche bread. Meat flavor is superb, this time it was a bit overcooked though. Cheese and garlic sauce are flavorful i can really recommend this burger, which actually tastes better and is more balanced with a single patty rather than double. I had mashed potatoes as a side and it's good. Feels homemade with some smaller potato pieces to chew in the mashed mix. It's not the fine purée type of mashed potatoes. The french fries goes better with this burger The reason service doesn't get 5 stars is because I've found the tables not to be clean at several occasions. Sticky sauces aren't incommon. They can and should put better attention to this. All in all, great burgers, mashed potatoes and fries. Highly recommended! I paid 139 kr for the burger, side and a cold beverage. They charged me 90 kr for a extra patty which is a bit too much in my opinion.
Zaytun is an oriental restaurant with GREAT grilled meat and traditional dishes. When the food is good, it's the best. While it isn't always perfect, it's always great tasting and high quality. I ordered the Qozi, leg of lamb cooked for many hours, together with the traditional Iraqi eggplant stew "Tepsi". Even though the rice was a bit undercooked and the meat could have been cooked for a bit longer, the food is considered great. Along with this comes freshly baked bread as well. My partner had the kebab mix grill which I also highly recommend. There is a salad buffet and lentil soup that goes along with all of this, and tea is available as well. Other options are liver, kidneys, heart etc. Eventhough the prices are expensive, you get alot of food and quality for the money. Highly recommended
This is not just a Hot Dog place, it's a gourmet sausage place with EXTREMELY good sausages, bread, mashed potatoes and other sides. I had the "Grand petit" menu (135 kr) which consists of 1 thick and 1 thin sausage, mashed potatoes, coleslaw and grilled bread. You can choose other sides than the mashed potatoes and the cole slaw. For sausages I had a lamb chorizo with parmesan and Kosackenwurst with pepper and garlic as the thin one. This meal was ABSOLUTELY amazing. The sausages are great tasting, the mashed potatoes one of a kind and the grilled bread is just something. The coleslaw was good. With it I had two kinds of mustard (there are 5 different kinds to freely choose from and other things as well, see picture). This place is HIGHLY recommended! Food: 5/5 Portion size: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 (very cosy place, just too small).
Jag har bara beställt hämtmat från Nymåne Pizzeria, så betyget tar hänsyn till det. Grekisk rulle - kebab, fetaost, sallad, tomater, gurka, kebabsås. Brödet är mycket färskt och gott och troligtvis bakat på restaurangen. En mycket balanserad och god rulle. Kebaben är inte skivad från ett dönerrotisserie, jag tror att den bara är köpt färdiggräddad. Inte den bästa i sig själv, men brödet och fetaosten lyfter helhetsupplevelsen. Det finns bara ett fåtal ställen som kör till mig med mat eller dryck på kvällen, och detta är ett av dem. Jag kan rekommendera detta när jag är hungrig, men på dagtid finns det definitivt pizzerior med bättre kött.
