In German and Swedish German: A Place Full of History and Heart – The Old Forge in Orrefors The Old Forge in Orrefors is far more than just a historic building – it's a living testament to the industrial past that once made Orrefors world-famous, even before glassmaking reached its zenith. For the residents, it wasn't just a workplace, but a central part of their lives and their identity. We were particularly impressed by the dedication of the association's volunteers, who passionately and wholeheartedly maintain this historic site and make it accessible to visitors. Some of them originally come from other countries – a wonderful sign of a vibrant community and cultural exchange. With a bit of luck, you might even meet a member of the association who speaks fluent German and enthusiastically shares the forge's fascinating history with even the youngest visitors. We had the pleasure of visiting the forge this year for Orrefors Day and also getting to know many other local associations. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day full of encounters, stories, and inspiration. 💛 A big thank you for this wonderful day in a place that breathes history and at the same time shapes the future.
