It was a pretty snowy wonderland. It is a lovely grounds to walk around the whole castle and lake/pond. Their perfectly round bushes were very impressive. We only wandered the grounds, so no comment on the interior. Open: May-Sept: 8am-8pm Oct-April: 8am-6pm Free parking was just down the road where the nature area is. There is a cafe directly across the road from the castle.

FANTASTIC area! Very beautiful and many area to explore. There are good rock scrambling and climbing opportunities. It was a very popular area, but it didn't feel overcrowded. The landscape is beautiful. You may even see cows wandering the coastal edges! Closest toilet 🚻 is back at the carpark or up near the lighthouse (specific opening hours).
This is a beautiful area to camp and I'm still amazed that its allowed. You are right by the water, but also close to the carpark for convenience and amongst trees for wind protection too. The beach was peaceful and fun to explore. There is plenty of space, so you don't feel in each other's space. There are multiple camp-fire spots and grills and also benches. A good amount of bins too. Keep the area clean people! The 2 shelters are spacious and were both available when we arrived after 9pm! There is a toilet but it does have opening hours from 7am-10pm. So make sure you time your visits! There is fresh water from a tap on the side of the toilet block. ⚠️ 🐕 Dogs aren't allowed between May 1 to September 30. I very much enjoyed this peaceful space!
