I do not recommend anyone to repair their Audi automatic gearbox at this place. My gearbox was sent to them by an authorized Audi service center after a fault was diagnosed. The repair cost 100,000 kr, but less than a year later the gearbox stopped working again. The car was taken back to Audi for inspection, and they stated that the mechatronic unit had to be replaced, costing 70,000 kr. We contacted Hellsengears regarding a warranty repair, but they refused to fix it, claiming that the car had been tuned (“chipped”) at some point in the past. However, the car had been running with updated software for a long time and no longer had any tuning modifications. Since they refused to honor the warranty, the gearbox was taken to another workshop for inspection. They immediately noticed that the gearbox was leaking oil heavily. After removing the gearbox, we discovered extremely poor workmanship: • The shaft seal had been installed incorrectly, causing oil to leak out from the side. • The clutch plates had been installed in the wrong direction, which resulted in the clutch being damaged again. This was not an issue caused by bad or low-quality parts – it was the direct result of unskilled and careless work. Paying 100,000 kr for a repair with no real guarantee and ending up with a working gearbox for only half a year is simply not worth it. I strongly advise against using this service. Additionally, after sending them photos of the defects, they stopped responding to me altogether.
