I urgently sought treatment for a severely inflamed wisdom tooth. The dentist's visit ended with me paying 5300+ for two x-rays, one of which cost 3000 and had nothing whatsoever to do with the inflamed wisdom tooth. The 3000 kronor x-ray was because the dentist suspected a cyst on the opposite side of the jaw and the dentist sold it as if it was important to check it out. I myself was quite scared and agreed to have it x-rayed. I should add that I have NEVER ever felt any pain or anything at all from that side of the jaw. I don't think I was given enough information or time to make an informed decision. Of course there was nothing and I now regret that I didn't just say "no" to the expensive x-ray and check it out in peace and quiet at home afterwards. So here I am now with a severe gum infection near my wisdom tooth, an infection that I have had for two weeks now and that has just gotten worse and that will not go away on its own because gum infections rarely go away on their own. I called there and asked if I could at least get a prescription for antibiotics but was denied. I got a new appointment for the tooth to be removed at the end of the month but cancelled it because I want nothing more to do with them. I will contact the Public Dental Service from now on.
