Slottsholmen Hotell & Restaurang is definitely an exciting and different hotel, with a superb location on Slotsholmen in Västervik. Parts of the hotel are built on the water, which makes the location of some of their rooms completely unique. The location of the hotel is fantastic in every way. And the fact that the hotel is even owned by Björn Ulvaeus from the legendary ABBA just gives the hotel a little extra. We stayed in one of their beautiful two-room suites. The suites are located in the main building, while the smaller rooms are located in the building that is built on the water. We were a little surprised, however, that above the suites were regular apartments, and not part of the hotel. The suite was large and very spacious, with a lovely view of the water. The room really felt like a home away from home, with everything from a record player with old hits to a good large kitchen. Will definitely stay here again, and definitely for longer periods. There were a few small things about the room that you could have wished were better. One was that there was quite a bit of noise from the exhaust fan in the bedroom and you couldn't turn it off. But it wasn't so much that you couldn't sleep. The hotel also had a small but quite nice fitness room, with an okay selection of machines. I could definitely dream of something to train my legs with. Otherwise, you could easily train your upper body. We ate in the restaurant once. It was a bit strange that the restaurant wasn't called anything specific, but was just part of the hotel. The food was really good, though, and I can definitely recommend eating there. We didn't go to the bar, but it looked nice. The breakfast was as expected of a hotel like this. I missed a little better coffee, but otherwise everything was as it should be. All in all, Slottsholmen Hotell & Restaurang is definitely a hotel I will return to. The hotel has also gone straight to my list of the best hotels in Sweden. Give the place a visit, it's worth it.
Quite a nice little shop there for the most part. Perfect little stop on the way south or north on the E22. A good change to be able to shop a little more, rather than the things that are at gas stations. The staff were nice and friendly, but you can tell that you often have more time out in the countryside, so everything doesn't go so fast.
Quite a nice Espresso House. The service was okay. We were just happy that you could get a good cup of coffee in the city. It is recommended to buy the coffee here, and then go to the bakery on the other side of the square to get something good with the coffee.
I've never been to ChopChop before, and didn't have high expectations for the food. But I was really pleasantly surprised! The food was, for what it is, really good! Probably some of the best Asian fast food I've had. And it was cheap! Will definitely come back, ChopChop was worth every penny!
