A beautiful natural campsite at the river. You should book online via the website to secure a spot as there is no check-in as such. For a small tent a fee is 75 SEK. The tent place overlooks the river bend and was nice and flat. We took water from the river and boiled it for cooking. The river was lovely for a dip! There are a few benches scattered around the campsite and caravan place that you can use. None of them is sheltered so something to bear in mind for a bad weather day. There are a couple of drop toilets next to the campsite. No showers, no wifi on the campsite. Very simple conditions but it was perfect for us to stay for the night 🏕️ We didn't meet the owners or been to the lodge so cannot comment on the facilities there.
We got a very friendly welcome at Åmot Husvagnsförening. It had a small kitchen to cook in, hot shower and a flat spot for the tent. There was a communal room that we were cordially invited to use - something we were very grateful for as it was raining all afternoon & evening. The communication followed in German. There was no wifi and only cash payment: 200 SEK. The place was mostly attended by people who stayed there for a long time and everyone seemed to know each other. Maybe not your prettiest campsite but was a good stop for us on the way North.
A very nice campsite 🏕️ We stayed for one night on our bike tour. The camping ground was flat with a few benches spread out. It was very affordable for a pitch - for 2ppl and a tent we paid 100 SEK. There are also cabins on-site that you can rent. The shower & toilet blocks were very good - clean and spacious. There was a small kitchen for campers with a small stove for 2 pots and a microwave. There were a few pots and pans, some cutlery and a couple of plates. Please note that kitchen is open in the opening hours of the reception: 9-21. You can find a grocery store 400m from the campsite. There was wifi on-site too (the further from reception the less reach). We didn't check out other activities that the campsite offers so cannot comment on those. You could use the campsite as a base to explore the UNESCO heritage farmhouses spread out around town and the 28km long trail towards Edsbyn. Overall a very pleasant stay & would recommend it!
