We have just returned from a fantastic two weeks over Christmas and New Year. Michael has been excellent from start to finish. He answered all the questions I had, went out of his way to get a floor plan for me so I could manage where I could put my family in advance. All information regarding check-in etc was sent in a timely fashion…he even updated me with weather warnings while we were there. On arrival we met with the homeowners in person (which is really unusual these days), they were such lovely, kind and laid back people. They introduced me to the house really well and showed me how everything worked. They had a real Christmas tree ready for us along with decorations and told us of the Swedish tradition to decorate the tree on the 24th. They made sure I had everything I needed before they left. They even left us with a jar of homemade Lingonberry jam, which was delicious. The house was exactly as described. The area was beautiful. Our dog was relaxed and loved his walks. We had the best time. My only really small “complaints” are the website has no search function, so you have to go through each property to find one you like and then look to see if it is free when you want to go. The other is that you to have to make the payment for the extras in cash because cash is a hard thing to find in Sweden, and it causes a delay in what is already a long journey…an option to make a PayPal or other instant transfer would be much better. Thank you Michael for all your help. Thank you also to David and Matilda for allowing us to stay in their beautiful home and for being simply wonderful people.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. I first enquired about the suitability of the place for my extremely anxious dog who doesn’t like other dogs and is very nervous around people. Mike answered almost immediately with a suggestion for the cabin he thought best suited our needs and let me know that cabins are available for a few days in the off-season (high season bookings are for whole weeks) so we could have a short stay just in case the dog was unhappy. After a short discussion with my husband, we decided to book three nights at the end of February. Any questions I had were promptly answered. On arrival, we went to meet Mike who took us to our cabin and showed us around. He had heated up the hot tub for us, which was a really nice touch! The cabin is beautiful..in a wonderful setting. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. There are lots of nice places to walk but it is also a fantastic place to just go and chill out and enjoy the peace. Our dog was extremely happy..for once he wasn’t glued to my side and took himself off to explore a bit. He had a run in with an electric fence, but apart from that he seemed to be loving every second. The kitchen is well-equipped, everything you need is there. The hot tub and sauna are great and all the firewood is there ready for you. It was so nice to sit and watch the sun go down from the lounge with a cosy fire or from the hot tub. There is a small town nearby with some takeaways and a supermarket. I highly recommend a stay and look forward to visiting again in the future.
