As previously mentioned by other guests, the self check-in simply does not work. In my case, the screen wasn’t functioning at all (see photo), so checking in on site was impossible. Next to the machine there is a phone that supposedly connects you directly to the Mornington Hotel reception. In reality, they only picked up after the third attempt. Once you finally reach them, you’re told to walk to the Mornington Hotel to collect your key. The receptionist claimed they had tried to contact me in advance, but there was no email, no missed call, no text message. Nothing. If you’re travelling with suitcases, this back-and-forth walk (30 mins in total) is extremely inconvenient and creates unnecessary stress right at the start. The room itself is located in the basement, which gives a very claustrophobic feeling. No windows, limited sense of space. The room was clean and nicely decorated, but being underground seriously affects overall comfort. Another downside is luggage storage. There is none on site unless you again walk all the way to the Mornington Hotel. After already dealing with the check-in issues, this just adds more friction. Yes, it’s cheaper than many other hotels in Stockholm, but you clearly give up a lot of comfort and ease in return. For me, the experience involved too much hassle, and I wouldn’t stay here again.
