Everything was great. When we first got in touch via email, it was a little bit confusing. Because we were referred to different email addresses. Quickly though we got a response from Carl who answered all of our questions immediately. We booked the canoe through their website comfortably. On site (Strängnas, not Gysinge) we were a bit unsure about how casual everything was, so don't let this throw you off since it actually is very relaxing. You'll receive a code for the boat house with your confirmation email (maybe you could highlight this code more in the fine print under the confirmation?), leave the car in the driveway, take out paddles, life vests and barrels from the boat house, and take your boat off the rack. When we got there, it was all self service. Right from the boat house you can reach every corner of the national park. The camp grounds have fire places, often shelters and toilets, we even stayed at an old rustic cabin you can only access by boat. The canoes are spacious enough to bring food, water, and camping equipment. We stayed three nights and had a phenomenal time. You can easily spend more time there. Carl had luckily warned us about the mosquitoes. We brought repellent and made a fire at each campsite - no problem. They leave you alone on the water anyway. Thank you Gysinge Kanot Team!
