Krakow restaurant has a central location in Gothenburg within walking distance to Vasaplatsen and the Avenue. The restaurant specializes in authentic Polish home cooking and is open for both lunch and dinner. On arrival we were greeted by a pleasant female employee, with clear Polish roots, who welcomed us and showed us to a free table inside the premises. The restaurant had a homely and pleasant atmosphere where it hummed with low-key chatter, laughter and exuberant life. The tables were covered with red tablecloths and candles. On the wall were pictures and objects from Poland, which created an authentic and Polish atmosphere - with a positive sign. The cheerful and pleasant waiter quickly presented the menu and took the drink order. The place boasts a good selection of Polish beer and various traditional Polish dishes. We chose to order "Smalec" with pickles as a starter and respectively "Golonka" (Pork knuckle) and Schabowy (Snitzel) for the main course. The drink and starter were quickly served at the table and the main course arrived in good time after the starter had been consumed. The portions that were served appeared to be generous and were nicely presented with fresh garnishes. The food seemed to be homemade, based on good ingredients and tasted excellent. The pleasant employee followed up well during the meal and asked if the food was tasty, but did not offer any more drinks when the glass was empty. The table linen was quickly cleared from the table when we were supplied and it was easy to get in touch with the employee to pay. We received a pleasant greeting and a pleasant smile when we left the restaurant. The restaurant appears authentic and genuinely Polish, both in decor, atmosphere and food. Here, large portions of good homemade Polish home cooking, good Polish beer and good service from friendly staff are served. Could you wish for anything more? I would happily visit the restaurant again and can recommend it to anyone who wants to try Polish home cooking at its best.
