I was admitted to ward 55 for an ongoing heart attack. A newly trained and newly employed nurse was going to insert an access point into my arm, a so-called peripheral venous catheter. She made 20 attempts to prick. She refused to get help. She pricked 9 times in the right arm crease, 3 times in the right forearm, 3 times in the left forearm and 5 times in the left arm crease. Other patients in the room shouted for her to get help. Then she said: “It has to work. It’s my job”. Then she pushed the needle into the right arm crease, and put all her strength into it. No wonder she had to take it, she pushed the needle into a muscle. There it sat for a day, without being used. Before the operation, it was removed because “it was leaking” and not working. This happened on 31/1/2023, almost three years ago. I have had pain in the arm crease every day since this happened. It hurts and stabs with every movement EVERY day. I reported it to IVO, but they ignored it.
