The hotel is located in the middle of the city center and the room I got, 447, looked out onto the square and the lake. Beautiful view and clean fresh room. The reception staff were exactly what a guest could wish for. However, the restaurant staff were on a different level. Warm, simple and caring. And insanely knowledgeable. At the same time completely without snobbery. The food was 5 star. The head waiter was a jewel in this small restaurant's crown. And the same with the bar waitress, or rather queen. I had the privilege of watching them train a new young apprentice. A future little prince I suspect. I can't emphasize enough what an incredibly good dinner I got to experience. And then I was stranded here against my will due to cancelled departures with SAS. So the conditions and mood really started from the baseline. If you are closer than 200 kilometers from Östersund, go here and eat, it's worth the effort.
