A very negative experience! I would not have given a single star if it had been possible. I would like to share my experience of PRIMA BUP Handen, where my six-year-old son was evaluated for ADHD, autism and intellectual disability (ID). Unfortunately, the entire process was very flawed and has left us with more questions than answers. The child psychologist who conducted the evaluation repeatedly showed irritation when my son did not understand what was expected of him. She was unclear in her communication, lacked a pedagogical approach and showed very little patience – something that is crucial in contact with young children with neuropsychiatric difficulties. The evaluation resulted in the diagnoses of ADHD and ID – both unspecified – and a note that he is borderline autistic. The diagnoses were perceived as diffuse and without a clear basis. When I later reviewed the medical records, I discovered that they contained several inaccuracies, indicating that important information had been misinterpreted or ignored altogether. In addition to this, there was a special education teacher connected to the case who showed very low work effort. I had to push for the preschool to receive feedback myself, and when it did come, the advice was completely inappropriate. She suggested an authoritarian approach where the teachers would show "who is in charge", even though I had explicitly told them that the child had suffered very badly from previous punishment-based methods such as time-out. This completely contradicts accepted recommendations for children with special needs. In summary: the investigation gave us uncertain diagnoses, incorrect documentation and guidance that rather worsened than improved the situation. Neither I nor my children have had a safe or helpful experience at PRIMA Handen, and I therefore cannot recommend this clinic to other parents looking for a clear investigation and respectful treatment. A year of investigation was wasted time, and now my son has to endure yet another prolonged investigation.😔
