Ingen musik i bakgrunden. Det hade varit bättre med något.
Mycket bra hotell.

A really nice B&B. You get the whole ground floor, with the owners living upstairs. The furishing are quirky and interesting. This is not furnished by that giant swedish box store. You have to walk from the bedroom across the living room to get to the bathroom, which I found a little unnerving, as I didn't have a dressing gown. I did feel that I had to put something on. The bathroom window was also plain glass without a curtain. You can see others houses across the river and I was a bit concious of this. Not sure anyone could see in. There was a large screen TV but I felt relaxed not to switch it on. We just sat and read our books while the sun went down. If the weather had been warmed and drier we could have taken the opportunity to sit on the terrance outside and watched the river. Breakfast the following day was huge. It was a pity that we couldn't eat more, but there only so much you can eat. It was good quality and fresh. I would stay here again and can recommend it.
The hotel sits on the edge of a lake and below a ski lift. The car park is rough and when we arrived was full of large pools of water. You get to the hotel up a large set of uneven steps. Check in was fine and you are given a key tyo your room. The lift is not in the lobby area, but half way down the corridor to the rooms and in the stairwell. The lift is strange at it is open to the lift shaft so you have to be careful when you are in it. You have to hold down the button for it to move. When I arrived in my room I found that it was a twin rather than a double (see photo). I had to return to reception to get it changed. I did check the booking and the hotel had confirmed a double. The rooms are very basic and look like they need a refresh. The bathroom, which is a wet room was very tired. Having a shower meant that the whole room got wet. Breakfast was a bit poor I thought, as the options were limited. This may be due to me staying in an off season (after the summer and before the ski season) and there being very few people staying. The hotel did lack any atmosphere and I cannot say I enjoyed staying. It did feel as it was recovering from the summer season and was waiting for the snow to arrive. For example, there was no music playing in the background in the resturant in either the evening or morning. I'm not saying I want it blaring out, but it does mean that you talk in whispers. When I left I had to pay for our evening meal. Since I was leaving Sweden and going to Norway I wanted to use the cash I had. I was told that was fine but they had no change to give me and unless I had the exact amount I had to overpay.
Not the worst McD I’ve been in, but up there. I visited at 7pm on Wednesday. There were very few others in there and didn’t see anyone at the drive through. Several tables had the remnants of meals on them. Standing at the ordering screen my feet were sticking to the floor with the residue of mopping soda. After ordering my food the machine didn’t give me a receipt or show me what number the order was. Table service wasn’t available but I spotted a number on one of the other ordering machines later. As I waited for my food at the counter I noticed that an order being prepared had several flies on it. Luckily my order was prepared in front of me and untouched by flies. The food was ok but I seem to be missing some of the regular sauces. Not sure if this is a Sweden thing, but there were no pickles. As I sat there eating my food I noticed that the floor was full of crumbs. I didn’t see any cleaning taking place in the 30 minutes I was there. Although I did feel safe I noticed that there were 3 separate sets of young men who seem to be disrespecting the place with feet up on chairs and being loud, which others could see as intimidating. Overall I found the place needing a good clean and something doing about the flies in the kitchen. I’m unlikely to be back this way, but would avoid if I did.
