Det råder lite pessimism om denna plats eftersom namnet antyder något mera än den fina höjd och utsikt det faktiskt är. Men om man bortser från denna förväntan så finns i verkligheten en plats som är en bra förlängning av besöket till Ryds …
There is a bit of pessimism about this place because the name suggests something more than the nice height and view it actually is. But if you ignore this expectation, there is in reality a place that is a good extension of the visit to the Ryd caves that are nearby. + You can park the car on the way up to the Ryd caves and take a moderate walk on a path that passes the edges of Rånna, then up towards Ysmingsborg and past the "caves" on the way back. Accessibility is good if you come from the Ryd caves, the rest are well-traveled paths. + A good place for a coffee by the view. Unfortunately a little tarnished by the new construction in Norra Ryd. + The area around Ysmingsborg offers a variation of Billingen's usual coniferous forest but also a lot of deciduous forest. Especially at Ysmingsborg itself which is almost like a clearing in the forest. +/- As many other reviews suggest, this is hardly a "castle" today. But from the ancient remains Skaraborg has to offer, it is easy to imagine and understand how someone could have settled here many years ago. - Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to park right next to Ryds caves. Instead, you have to park a little further down. This unfortunately affects accessibility for some. - Although the area is a good walk with the dog, it may be good to be aware that there may be cows in a certain part and that the hill up to Ryds caves is newly paved with gravel (and can therefore be sharp for sensitive paws). Even minor explosions can occur from the quarry that is nearby.
Helt fantastiskt gelato, godaste jag ätit. Värt en omväg.
