BUDGET SCAM. I left the car back after a 4 day rental. The attendant was TOO BUSY to sign off on the car (I was the only person there at 7 am) but I checked the car, no damage and left. Got home and had an Email claiming damages and a bill for about 500 Euro's (so 800 Euro's for 4 days rental.) I queried this and was sent photos of a 'scrape' over the fuel cap cover and a scuff below the rear bumper: both would have polished out with T-Cut in about 10 seconds. I would have noticed the fuel cap cover when fueling the car. A friend of mine who works at cars told me that a rub with a candle and chalk produces the same effect and once the money is claimed then a quick rub with a cloth and, Hey Presto, damage gone till the next customer arrives. Was at another airport a month ago and same scenario EXCEPT I REFUSED to to leave till the car was signed off. The staff member only checked the fuel and did not even walk round the car: CONFIRMS AND TELLS ME ALL I NEED TO KNOW!
