This gym reminded me of the importance of going to open house and trial sessions just to get a feel for the culture of a place. I've trained at quite a few places; 4 or so in Sweden, 1 in the UK and 3 in Thailand. Onechai was the only place where I was told off, snarkily, for trying to help the beginner I'd been paired up with. Not because I made bad suggestions, but because I made suggestions at all. It's a very weird approach to teaching that doesn't vibe with me. Maybe it was just that one teacher, maybe they had a bad day, I can't know for sure. But I do know that I've trained with enough skilled, humble instructors who were more than happy with people helping each other out, for this experience to qualify as a red flag. If I had been on the other end of this; if my more experienced partner was trying to help me out and was told off for it, I'd feel cheated out of my money. And they do ask a lot of money at this place.
Jättesnabb och trevlig service. Helnöjd.
