We celebrated our wedding anniversary at La Ruelle, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and taken care of. The atmosphere is warm, intimate, and perfect for a special evening, yet still relaxed enough that you immediately feel comfortable. The food was fantastic—every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. While the menu isn’t extremely long, it’s clear that every option has been carefully curated, and you can’t go wrong with anything you order. We loved how each plate was presented with attention to detail, and it all tasted as good as it looked. One of the real highlights was the staff. They weren’t just friendly and attentive; they were also incredibly knowledgeable about wine. They took the time to ask what we liked and then suggested different pairing options to match our food perfectly. It felt like they genuinely cared about creating the best experience for us, rather than just going through the motions. The drinks were excellent, the service was spot-on, and the overall experience made the evening truly memorable. It’s the kind of place where you can tell they take pride in what they do—both in the kitchen and on the floor. All in all, La Ruelle exceeded our expectations and gave us a wonderful anniversary celebration. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place with outstanding food, great wine, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back!

A fun unique bar! Full focus on beer and G&T Beer wise they have lots of fun things on a board and a wide range of taps G&T was my purpose for the visit and they deliver. They have a 3-4 leveled section of gins with different prices for each one. And an equally large selection of tonic The staff is well educated on the topic and can come with tips and tricks
Been wanting to come here for a long time and it definitely lived up to the expectations- and more! Food is amazing. They suggest 2 dishes to sort of cover a main dish. We skipped the snacks and went for 3 dishes each instead to try as many goodies as possible. Some dishes have been on the menu since the very start of the restaurant and others are new and switched up every now and then Wine is a big focus here as well. Was able to ask for something heavy and weird and got 2 different exciting things Service and staff is amazing too. We purposely booked the chefs table and got to talk with everyone. Look for the guy with the K5 logo tattooed on the arm - owner extraordinaire with lots of passion! All in all super happy!
Apparently this place has a pretty extensive crepe and galette menu - had no idea! Big fan of the interior design here - the place is beautiful! Love all the colors and the vibe The food is also great - nor super big portions but very filling once you finish what you have on the plate. They know their stuff! The cocktail menu has some interesting and unique things that I am looking forward to trying but haven’t yet Pro tip to all other restaurants: Big ice cubes at the bottom of the glass and pebbled ice up top. Avoids over dilution and still looks pretty in a tall glass! The homemade lemonade was served this way and staid tasty all the way to the bottom of the glass
Nice place and the staff is super friendly The food itself is ok but not amazing. It tasted a bit under seasoned and not very big portions. I’d recommend at least 1 food galette and 1 desert crepe. But even then I or my wife weren’t quite full. The desert crepe with cardamon actually had too much of it on it and ended up quite dry I wanted to like this place more that I did after several years of coming back to this location but it ended up being just Ok
Fun place! Been wanting to come here for a while and used the opportunity of first-meal-out after having kids to come here with the stroller The atmosphere in this place is super unique and quirky and brings a fun vibe to the whole place There is a set of train tracks in the middle of the restaurant which did make it a bit hard to fit a stroller in. We did also see at least 3 people trip on it during our time here. But the design and idea is nice The whole concept of breakfast all day, from all over the world, is also very fun. Very happy to not just be another cafe with the same thing as every other place The fact that they serve beer and wine feels unexpected but also a great addition. Didn’t have any on this visit but wine and trying a new breakfast from the world sounds like a great idea! Well worth a visit!
This place is a classic. What you see is what you get - and that’s exactly what it should be It has all the things you’d expect in the menu - from drinks to food. If you’re interested in sports it’s more of a chill and less commercial place than Olearys that’s just around the corner. This feels more home-y and cozy Burger: solid. A few options to choose from Chicken wings: nice unique flavor to them. Not just the standard buffalo wings or something else you’d get everywhere Dirty fries: good but bacon a bit too crisp and rock hard in places. Mayo-sauce also not my cup of tea but a big portion of tummy stuff!

Had no idea when I booked it but found out during the dinner Obviously running a restaurant in these times are tough but I’m saddened to hear this place is closing its doors If happily recommend this place to any friends as an amazing place to go The staff were super friendly and gave us special extra good deals on wine due to the closing of the restaurant. Will happily visit the staff at any upcoming restaurants and bars they end up working at Starters were nice but nothing mind blowing. Full course meals thought were amazing. We were 3 ppl who split the 90g tbone and added ribs as well Both wine and cocktails were great and the people working here were happy to help out and give recommendation. Given free hands for avec after the dinner we got tasty stuff All In all - super sad to hear this place is closing and rip. Not sure how much this review helps other than to say best of luck in future adventures for all people working here and if be happy to visit each one of you again at your future restaurants and bars!
Had the tasting menu here which includes a lot of goodies. The pumpkin soup was lovely with bits of duck The tartare had a great deep flavour that nicely mixed with the mustard The fish was tasty and a unique sauce The reindeer and super flavourful sauce was the standout hit The dessert was nicely balanced and a great end to the dinner We were here on a date over a decade ago - nice to see the restaurant still going strong so many years later
Lion bar - a Swedish staple Of you’ve been to any lion bar this place is what you’d expect. There are 2 floors through which is nice On a non-weekend it’s pretty quiet and good deals on the food The plank steak was the go to which was ok aside from the powder-based mashed potatoes that was very dry. The pork and vegetables were all nice Good vibes, music and fun mix of people here If you like this type of place this is just what you’d like!
This place is amazing - best new addition to Uppsala In years. And the fact that it’s not just a temporary summer time, which I assumed, is fantastic! Make sure you come here to show the cooks and organizers behind this whole thing support and that it’s appreciated It’s like a mini kulturnatten or other food truck filled event - but everyday! I’ve tried Ethiopian, green and Pakistan so far but am working my way through them all!
I’ve only tried the lunch (one specific day) so this may not be a fully comprehensive review of all the place has to offer As far as lunch goes though they seem to have a good selection of dishes and a salad bar. They even had massive gnocchi salad - a first for me! It was okay but a fun new experience The day I was here it was a Swedish classic and all tasted great. Not super large portion though for a pretty high lunch price of 140 kr. The place does offer nice outdoor seating in the summer time and close to the city park and nature
Super central fully vegetarian place in the heart of the city I’m from the city but had never heard of or tried this place before and it was a big hit! The menu has lots of different options and highlights the fun and unique dishes that can be made without any meat products. From tofu to mushrooms and lots of options make for filling and tasty dishes A big hit was the drinks as well. Both the mint and mango shakes were yummy
Had a wonderful summer lunch here! A good range of the classics you’d expect in the menu with an obvious tilt for things from the sea. Skagen, strömming etc. But there’s also chèvre- which was great! For vegetarian eaters. And classic Swedish meatballs with a great sauce. We got those as well as the steak sandwich which was good but the groups collective least favorite. They also have their own beer, fun!
Wonderful place with lots of options! All super tasty This is especially nice on a warm summer evening with their outdoor seating across the road near the water with a great view of the church We chose 5 dishes per person and could barely finish it all. But there’s just so much good stuff to try!

An amazing location in central Uppsala that’s exactly what you’re looking for a spring/summer evening! Sitting outside enjoying the scenery with a nice cocktail and food from the menu is a great experience The bookmaker toast was great and the gin based Paloma was a fun twist on the classic instead of tequila. Great Italian place in Uppsala! It’s not in the super center like many other restaurants but well worth a visits across the train tracks Lovely atmosphere, great staff and food. We went in a Friday night and the place was filled with first dates families and celebrations

Fantastisk service och underbart bemötande. Snabb upphämtning för utmattade vandrare. Och stort tack Daniel för skjutsen till Kvikkjokk fjällstation/ 4 trötta men nöjda skåningar.
Lång väntan på mat, hamburgaren var inget vidare heller tyvärr. För 179:- får man heller inget annat tillbehör än torra pommes frites... Jag har ätit här ganska många gånger och det har definitivt blivit sämre.
