I went to the academy for 3 days for a "trial period". I am a former ITF Junior ranked player who competes at a high level and I was also in the national team in my country. They put me with a few 14 year olds to train with, not once did they ever give me the chance to show my true level with their full time, more advanced players. After the 3 days, the coaches just said to me that they don't want me since "my levels not good enough". Even though they never gave me a chance to show them my actual level. Also, I was very sick and having headaches so I could not run or move properly, but they never took that into consideration, they just said to me that my fitness and movement isn't good enough. EVEN THOUGH, I told them about my circumstances. Since I already payed the training fee, even though I wasn't physically ready to train, I still had to train. Keep in mind that my coach was a former professional and is friends with one of the academy founders Mikael Tillstrom, so I would never say something negative unless I feel like its necessary. Tillstrom had the guts to come up to me and claim that he can beat me, the coaches here are full of ego. They always keep their full time and short term students seperated, which is not good for either group. Because I have been to the Nadal academy before and sometimes they would actually combine players from different programs which I believe is more beneficial for everyone. But no, this academy has like 20 to 30 players, so as a result, the coaches here are very conservative and stubborn since they cant afford to be even a little bit more flexible. Small academies can't afford to take any risks or any "uncertainties" So basically, they charged me 435 Euros to train for 3 days (145 Euro times 3, excluding accomodation) with a few 14 year olds. They put profit first, and quality second. Never gave me a chance to train with their better full time players, and then tells me "you're not good enough".
