We had dinner here and tried the tasting menu. You get 3 dishes + dessert for around 600 SEK, which for the quality and creativity of the dishes, is certainly worth it. I like how you get to choose between two dishes for the 4 courses, that meant we could try a lot as a pair. The atmosphere and setting were excellent. It felt cosy and warm, extremely welcoming and kudos to the staff who were so kind and attentive during the service. The dishes were delectable, everything was very fresh and simple, in the best way. The ingredients were allowed to shine in each dish. I particularly loved the kåldolmar with kimchi. The crispy texture with the flavourful broth was absolutely delicious. This is a place my partner and I will keep coming back to! Thank you so much for having us ✨
Gerd is an absolute Götebiorg staple. The interior is absolutely beautiful interior, consisting of an open kitchen, metal accents and trendy furniture, we knew we would not be disappointed. The coffee is always outstanding. A distinct flavour with a smooth mouthfeel. I love both their iced latte and hot coffees such as cortado and cappuccino. We also tried the grilled sandwiches, one cheese and one tuna. The bread is fresh and crisp. The filling is flavourful, and the sauce on the side was extremely tasty. Their semlas and ither baked goods also never disappoint! Definitely one of our favourite cafes in Göteborg that we will keep coming back to. My partner said he would even move to live closer to it ☕️
It was exciting to try the tasting menu at Poppy! The venue is intimate and cosy with a modern refined twist. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. It was fun hearing about the dishes and the wine pairing. The menu flowed from one dish to the next seamlessly. The tempo was great, maybe even a bit fast. I would have been comfortable with more of a break between dishes. We could not decide on a favourite dish, but any of the seafood dishes were winners for me. Excellent combination of textures and flavours. Simple, yet complex. Only point to raise is that at times, the noise can be a bit much, it adds a fun bustle to the restaurant, but when the servers are trying to explain the dish alongside the music and the guests speaking around you, it’s difficult to hear what they are saying. Other than that, everything was great. Looking forward to trying a new tasting menu!

Love this café, always come here to work or hang out with my boyfriend. Has such a cosy vibe no matter the weather and always has this bustling and quiet atmosphere simultaneously which is lovely. The salads are great, we have tried some of the cookies from various times that we have been that have been delicious. Even my boyfriend who says he “doesn’t like cookies” (I think he’s lying) said it was the best one he ever had. Maybe as someone who grew up in Spain, I’m not so used to the taste of coffee in Sweden, but it is still good, I like getting the iced latte especially 🧚♀️
