Engelsberg is more than just a historic site; it's a truly calming and beautiful place. The preserved architecture, combined with the tranquil natural surroundings, creates a peaceful retreat from the modern world. Every corner is meticulously maintained, offering a quiet elegance that promotes relaxation and reflection. I genuinely hated to leave and am already looking forward to my next opportunity to visit this Swedish UNESCO treasure. Highly recommended for history lovers, nature enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a unique, serene getaway.
Fantastic Deep Dive into Swedish Cuisine, More of a Meal Than a Tasting! We visited Kajsas Fisk as a stop on a Stockholm food tour, and it was a highlight of the experience. The quality of the food was exceptional, and it felt like a true immersion in authentic Swedish cuisine. While some of the items, like the Räksmörgås (shrimp on toast) and the cheese, were similar to dishes we had elsewhere, the beauty of this stop was getting to sample distinct versions from different, excellent vendors. The Fisksuppe (fish soup) was a particular standout, being rich, complex, and full of flavor. The inclusion of the savory patty and the perfectly cured fish rounded out a wonderful plate of national favorites. My only cautionary note is that the portions at this stop were extremely generous, closer to full meal portions than tasting samples. This is a testament to the quality, but future tour-goers should be aware that they will leave feeling very full! In summary: If you love experiencing high-quality, authentic Swedish food and appreciate the subtle differences between preparations, this stop is phenomenal. It offers an entire, high-quality, and deeply satisfying Swedish meal.
