Just another road side eatery. Three of us had the menu of the day, filet of chicken and a rosemary sauce. Chicken was great but the sauce was too sweet and the rosemary gave a soapy taste. Our youngest grandchild had the fish & chips, which she found OK, but not 'as it tasted in Spain' :-)

Nice staff, well sized camping sites. One star extra for the newly renovated showers and toilets, the other toilets are OK but a tad worn. There's few places where you can have this great sea front view from your caravan!

Such a lovely campsite. Almost as if I would like to give it a really bad review so i could keep it to myself... Easy to get there, the beautiful town of Mariefred within biking distance, great staff, great plots, great beach. What is there not to like? We'll be back for sure!

Me and the Mrs. been here for lunch two days in a row now, and great lunches it has been! At SEK 90, we had pork medallions yesterday and some pizza today. The Mrs. thinks they have the best pizza salad she's ever had, and yes, it is one of the best I've ever had too! Great and young, pleasant staff,well worth a visit.

Stopped by for lunch. I had the today's special, minute steak with strips and sauce bearneasie, and the Mrs. a hamburger with strips. Service was tremendously fast in spite the large number of customers. There was also a menu of the day with an assortment of traditional swedish home cooked dishes to choose from, and with the possibility of take away. Both dishes where tasty with a generous amount of strips that where as crisp as they should. The large number of workers apparently having lunch here is always a sign of popularity!
Me and the Mrs. and a friend had lunch, filet of pork with grated potatoes and two kinds of sauces. For SEK 99, a real bargain. Friendly staff and great taste in combination!
I'm not saying that this is a four star camping, far from. But it is a (cheap) camping ground that gives you value for the money. There are toilets, showers, a kitchen and really great views over the sea. This is camping at its best, close to nature, tranquil and simple. The reception is manned only a couple of hours per day, so you simply drive in and pick a spot you like, and then you check in when the staff arrives. The hot water in the shower cost you an additional SEK 5 (make sure you have your coins available), but there's ample time for you to finish. The only thing I don't like, and that is common to most camping grounds, is the cost for electricity which is way too high in relation to the consumption.
Det är helt enkelt en camping när den är som bäst. Naturen satte planen med en campingplats här och en annan där. Det är ekologiskt, det är naturligt. Trevlig personal och bra duschar och toaletter. Och det finns en strand!
Som med vilken svensk second hand-butik som helst som drivs av kyrkan hittar man sällan saker av intresse. Men det är billigt och ibland hittar man något. Kläder är mer än ofta skräp, även om du kanske hittar en del arbetarkläder av kvalitet.

General store with nothing that sticks out. You can make a bargain if you look hard, but it's mostly made-in-China-so-you-know-what-you-get kind of a store.
Me and the Mrs. argued if this place was worth one or two stars. We both had the lunch special, a 'fish and chips with fried potatoes'..? and she a burger plate. The fish was two tiny, pre-fried sad excuses of unknown origin. The 150g burger was actually two 90g burgers stacked on top of each other. Our grandson had two hot dogs with mash, a mash he rejected because it was covered in herb spices. Not the cleverest to do when serving kids... I did like the strips served with the fish because they had this fatty taste of, according to my wife coming from way too old frying oil... In all, not worth the SEK 70 per plate.
I was to order the 'Husets jaktlåda' which suggests an assortment of meats from a hunting trip. Upon asking, the waiter (who was barely swedish speaking) the dish actually contained common pork tenderloin... Being a company of five we all ordered the grill plate, which sounded as a nice selection of meats and saucages from the menu. It all went downhill from there... A question about the grape of one of the wines on the menu resulted in the waiter showing us two other bottles NOT on the menu!?... After settling for one, the waiter assured us that the price was the same. The food was an utter dissipointment, everything on the plate for all five of us was cold. A grill plate means a cheap sausage cut in half, some chewy meat, a couple of slices of bacon and two small sqeuers of veggies. When commenting on the temperature, we got the explanation that it was because the kitchen was open in both ends.... When we left, they tried to charge us an extra SEK 50 för the wine. So, my message to everybody, don't go near that place even if you are paid for..

Somewhat remote, but nice. Next to a lake. We visited during a really bad summer period, cold and rainy, I think there was perhaps only 5-10 campers staying. Not much activity but very peaceful.
