Maxinge Center is the largest shopping mall on the Åland Islands, making it super convenient to find everything you need and enjoy your time there. There’s plenty of free parking, which is great if you’re driving. The mall offers a wide range of shops. H&M has clothes, accessories, and home goods for the whole family. Right next door is KappAhl, known for stylish and comfortable everyday clothing and footwear. For sportswear, there’s a specialized store where you can find activewear and sports shoes. For everyday shopping, Tokmanni is a go-to — a big department store with home goods, electronics, toys, and groceries. Another large supermarket, Sparhallen, offers a wide selection of fresh products, although prices are a bit higher than usual markets. A new addition is the Apoteket pharmacy, where you can get medicines and health products conveniently in one place. Pet lovers will appreciate the expanded Musti & Mirri store, packed with pet food and accessories. For flowers and plants, Blomster Ting offers beautiful bouquets and a great variety of greenery. You’ll also find Clas Ohlson and Euronics for electronics and home goods, and Eurosko for shoes for all ages. After shopping, you can relax at one of the cafés or visit the hair salon right inside the mall — perfect for a quick freshen-up without extra travel. The restrooms are clean and free, and there’s free Wi-Fi throughout the mall, making your visit even more comfortable. Overall, Maxinge Center is a fantastic place to shop for clothes, groceries, electronics, and home supplies, plus it’s great for relaxing and taking care of yourself. Definitely recommend stopping by!

I came to BIKE Åland with a specific problem — the kickstand on my bike had broken, and I needed to replace the mount. I had already visited several other shops, but all they offered were basic models with screws, non-adjustable, and requiring tools. Here, they immediately showed me the perfect option: a kickstand with a push-button length adjustment — easy to use and practical. The price was only €20, which I think is a great deal for such a universal piece. What really surprised me was the service. They gave me tools for free so I could remove the old mount and install the new one right on the spot. I also asked if they had oil for the chain — and without hesitation, they gave me a small bottle for free. That kind gesture made me feel truly welcome. I was wearing clean clothes, just like the owner, and during our conversation he even jokingly (or maybe not?) offered me a job. If that offer was serious, I would be very happy to work with you! As you saw, I don’t speak Swedish or English, yet I was still able to explain everything and get help. That says a lot about how you treat customers. Thank you so much — it meant a lot to me.

I visited Ålands Musikinstitut on Grindmattesvägen 7 and had a very good impression. It is a modern, spacious building with a warm atmosphere. It is obvious that they take music seriously here: a large selection of areas - from guitar and vocals to drums and brass. There are solo lessons, ensembles, and theory. I am especially pleased that concerts and master classes are held regularly, you can feel the real creative life. The teachers are friendly, it is obvious that they have experience. But you have to keep in mind: it is not so easy to get in - there are many applicants, there is a selection and audition. And also - the classes are mainly for children and teenagers, there is almost nothing for adults here yet. Overall, it is a great place if a child is passionate about music and wants to develop. I was pleased with what I saw and heard.

I visited Ålands Servicecenter and had average impressions, but I'll give an objective opinion. I went there with my equipment under warranty. The location itself was easy to find: it's behind a hardware store, so parking is easy, which is a plus. On the positive side, the guys know their stuff and clearly understand their equipment. They greeted me without any fuss and explained what they were going to do and how. They work on a variety of small equipment: lawn mowers, motors, scooters—which is convenient, especially in the Åland Islands. But there are some downsides, too. Firstly, they're only open on weekdays and until 4:00 PM. Not everyone can get away at that time. Secondly, you can't always get an answer or service right away—it's best to call ahead, otherwise you could just waste time. Sometimes they're busy and don't take on jobs right away. Overall, it's an okay service, nothing special, but they get the job done. If you approach the matter with patience and clarify details in advance, you can resolve technical issues with peace of mind.

I contacted Ljungdahls Motorverkstad with an engine issue. Overall, they do a good job, and it's clear they have experience, but things weren't perfect. I couldn't get a reschedule right away—I had to wait because the mechanic I needed wasn't there. It seems they're not very organized. The repair itself was done well, but if they'd told me up front that I'd have to wait a couple of days, I might have considered another option. Parking is convenient, with plenty of space. Payment went smoothly—by card. Overall, the service is decent, but it's best to confirm everything in advance to avoid wasting time.

I recently visited Å-Land Hospital in Mariehamn. Convenience starts with the parking lot - it's right next to the entrance, spacious, and there was always no problem finding a spot. For those who ride a bike, everything is also thought out: there's a station where you can pump up your tires. A separate entrance for emergencies is clearly marked and easy to find, which is especially important in a stressful situation. It's clean and quiet inside, the staff is attentive. I was pleased that there is a canteen in the building - you can have a snack without going outside. There is also a vending machine with food and drinks for a quick snack. The toilet is accessible to visitors, clean and well-maintained, which is also important. The overall impression is that the place is organized with care for people. Everything is in its place, and it's clear that the hospital thinks about the comfort of not only patients, but also those accompanying them.

Första Apoteket in Mariehamn left a very good impression. The pharmacy is clean, spacious, and offers a wide selection of medications and health products. The staff is friendly and explains everything calmly and clearly. It's very convenient that you take a number at the entrance, and then you can easily navigate the electronic display—you can see which number is being served. If there are many people ahead of you, you don't have to stand in line or ask who's behind whom—you can just go about your business and come back. When your number arrives, the employee calls you and gives you everything you need. I'm also pleased that the pharmacy has five or more cash registers, so everything goes smoothly. It's a convenient and modern place, where everything is organized with customer service in mind.
