Laila’s Café, Köpmanholmen Premiere coffee with a taste for more and a slight risk of relapse Stepping into Laila’s Café in Köpmanholmen is a bit like opening the door to a warm embrace, if the embrace also serves coffee, fika bread, sandwiches, etc. and a smile that doesn’t feel tacky in the slightest. We’re talking genuine comfort here, not that “we’ve-taken-a-course-in-customer-service” variety. Staff The staff is so nice that you almost wonder if they get paid in the sunshine. They succeed in the difficult art of being both relaxed and professional, and you immediately feel like a regular, even if, like me, you’re only there for the premiere coffee. It’s almost like you want to ask if they adopt adults. Coffee The coffee is top-notch. It’s as if someone has taken everything that’s good in life, filtered out the calories (mentally, at least), and served it on a platter. The coffee is hot, fresh and doesn't taste at all like it's been pondering its existence in a pot since 7:15. The place & surroundings The place is cozy in that "we'll stay a while longer" kind of way. Just right, just right modern, and with an atmosphere that makes you spontaneously start talking a little nicer to people. The view and surroundings around the café also do their part: Köpmanholmen shows itself from its most charming side, (It was sunny outside today) as if it also wants to be included in the review. Summary Laila's Café is a place where you don't just have a coffee, you land. It's warm, welcoming and exactly the kind of local gem that makes you think: "I shouldn't tell anyone this... but I will anyway." Highly recommended. Risk of return visit: 100%.
