On February 6th I visited Munksjöstadens Bilverkstad. Upon arrival I informed the workshop that the vehicle inspection had pointed out that the washer fluid was not spraying on the windshield due to frost. I explained that the workshop only needed to defrost or melt the ice, since I also had summer washer fluid in the system. The workshop stated that this would cost at least 1300 SEK, I said how expensive. They said maybe I don't have to pay more than that. After waiting since 13:00, I was informed at 15:30 that they would look into the problem. At 16:00 the workshop announced that the washer pump needed to be replaced. I questioned this, but since the workshop did not have the washer pump in stock, the replacement could not be carried out. The cost of the replacement was estimated at 1700 SEK, which would mean a total cost of over 2800 SEK. Fortunately, the replacement was not carried out. When I was about to pay, the workshop demanded 1300 SEK for "working with the ice and melting it". I pointed out that this had not solved the problem, and that I would now have to spend more money on it. After discussion with Robert and a person named Muhammed, who assured me that they had used funds and worked on the problem, I was offered a 50% discount in exchange for a 5-star review, which I gave. Afterwards, I contacted the workshop and asked if I had understood correctly that they had defrosted the system, and that the problem was now due to the washer pump. I investigated the matter myself and found that the washer pump was a relatively simple component that should not cost that much. I bought a new washer pump from skruva.se. On February 13, I visited another workshop. They showed me how much ice was still in the system. I explained the situation and showed the message where Munksjöstadens Bilverkstad claimed that they had defrosted the ice. The garage stated that they could fit the new washer pump, but that it would probably not solve the problem. I was shocked and felt misinformed by Munksjöstadens Bilverkstad. The garage explained that the car needed to be inside to melt the ice. Although they could not guarantee a result, they helped me by flushing with hot water for over 1 hour and 30 minutes, checking fuses and performing other tests. I had to leave the car with them to go to work. The walk there took an hour and caused pain in my legs and shortness of breath, missing the bus, something I had not experienced in a long time. I was upset and frustrated by the whole situation. I chose Munksjöstadens Bilverkstad in Jönköping because of positive recommendations. The other garage had spent a lot of time on my car, and I paid a smaller amount. I still have the message where Munksjöstadens Bilverkstad claims that they have melted the ice and that the washer pump needs to be replaced. I bought a new washer pump, but it was not needed. So I have lost both money and time searching for and buying an unnecessary spare part. I ask you to choose another workshop than Munksjöstaden. After a frustrating experience at Munksjöstadens Bilverkstad on Jönköpingsvägen, where I was wrongly informed that I needed to replace the washer pump even though the problem was ice in the system, I turned to Ålunda Verkstad in desperation. At Ålunda Bil, they clearly showed me how extensive the ice build-up was. They honestly informed me that replacing the washer pump might not solve the problem. I was surprised, because at the previous workshop I had paid for them to melt the ice. Ålunda offered to try to melt the ice by parking the car indoors, but warned that it did not guarantee success if it was parked outside. For almost two hours they struggled to melt the ice with hot water and other methods. Although they could not promise a result, they put a lot of time and effort into helping me. Between 1:00 PM and 2:45 PM, I handed in the car due to the extensive ice build-up. I had filmed the work so I could complain to the first workshop that misled me. Ålunda continued working on the car and promised to get back to me. They managed to remove the ice and I was able to pick up the car the same day. I had summer washer fluid in the system and forgot to top up with winter fluid, so the entire system was frozen. Ålunda changed the fuses and tried different solutions. I am incredibly happy with the result – the windshield works better than ever! I experienced Ålunda as honest and responsible, and their treatment was fantastic. I saw their commitment myself during the two hours they worked. Ålunda Verkstad really saved the situation, and I will definitely turn to them in the future. I recommend Ålunda Bil to everyone – their honesty, responsibility and professional treatment are invaluable.
