Our experience at Thap Thim was overall quite average. We visited as a large group, and the staff were accommodating in seating us together, which we appreciated. They were polite and did their best to help despite the restaurant being quite busy at the time. Service, however, felt a bit stretched. A request for an extra water cup was forgotten, and there was a longer-than-expected wait for the food to arrive. While the staff remained courteous, the pace of service impacted the overall dining experience. I ordered the Tom Yum seafood soup. The flavors were acceptable, but nothing particularly memorable; the dish was decent, though it lacked the depth and brightness that typically makes Tom Yum stand out. Overall, the meal was satisfactory but unremarkable. Thap Thim is a reasonable option if you’re in the area, but the experience felt fairly average compared to other Thai restaurants.
Dashi is one of the more authentic ramen experiences we’ve found in Malmö, comparable to some neighborhood ramen spots you might find in the United States. We visited on a Sunday evening with a group of seven and were able to be seated together without a reservation, though I would recommend booking ahead if you plan to visit on a busier night. The service stood out; the staff were quick, polite, and attentive throughout our visit, which made the dining experience smooth and enjoyable for a larger group. I ordered the tantanmen, while my partner chose the miso ramen. Both bowls were well executed; the broths were rich and flavorful, the noodles had excellent texture, and the ingredients tasted fresh and well-prepared. The ramen was definitely the highlight of the meal. For sides, we tried the chicken gyoza and the air-fried pork belly. Both were decent, but not particularly memorable compared to the quality of the ramen. Dashi is a strong contender for ramen in Malmö if you’re looking for a comforting, authentic bowl with reliable service.
The Swedish meatballs were the standout dish and offered a quintessential Swedish dining experience. They were served with bright lingonberries and a rich, flavorful gravy; highly recommend dipping the bread into the sauce. In addition to the meatballs, we also tried the chicken and pork belly stews, both of which were excellent. The flavors across the menu were cozy, creamy, and comforting, with a home-style quality that made the meal feel hearty and satisfying. Service was efficient and straightforward. The setup is simple: you order first at the counter and then take a seat. Despite the streamlined approach, the staff were friendly and the food arrived quickly; we never waited more than 5–8 minutes. Seating for dine-in can be limited during busy times. Complimentary bread and water are provided for guests dining in. If tables are full, takeout is a convenient alternative, and bread is included with takeout orders as well. A great spot for comforting, home-style Swedish meals with quick service and excellent flavors. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a classic and satisfying local dining experience.
We stayed at Story Hotel Malmö for three nights and had a very pleasant experience overall. The hotel is clean, modern, and well maintained. Our room was comfortable and offered a good amount of space, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring the city. One of the highlights was the excellent value when redeeming points, which made the stay especially worthwhile and difficult to fault from a price-to-value perspective. The only area where we felt there was room for improvement was the breakfast selection. While the offerings were good, we would have appreciated a wider variety; particularly, more traditional Swedish items. Other hotels we stayed at in Malmö featured local staples such as pickled herring, which would have been a nice addition here. Overall, a comfortable and well-priced stay, especially for those looking for strong value in a clean and conveniently located hotel.
