I went shopping and brought my own reusable cloth bag, as I always do to avoid using plastic. I felt uncomfortable when the cashier asked me to open my personal bag to see what was inside, even though it only contained my wallet and another folded bag. I understand that stores have security measures, but checking a customer’s personal belongings shouldn’t be part of the checkout process. I hope the staff can receive better guidance on how to handle these situations respectfully, especially towards customers who try to shop in an environmentally friendly way.
