A real paradise of the north! I was here on a sunny day mid-September. The beach and the view down the stretch of the lake were an otherwordly experience. The water here is the most beautiful I have ever seen (except for neighbouring Jurunjaure), with an amazing clarity and subtle grey-blue hue. On the far side of the shore, coming from Jurunjaure, there is an old Sami settlement which is also well worth a visit. Exploring this area alone, with its old Sami names, meeting not a single person on the way, was a very spiritual experience for me and one which I hold dearly! Recommend visiting in the autumn as the colours of the landscape are unbelievable. You may also snag a good deal of big, juicy late cloudberries in the marshes.
