Restaurant Regenten is located on the upper floor of a trucking company. The premises are fresh and spacious, perhaps a little bare in appearance despite a number of Christian Beijer posters on the wall. Today's lunch buffet offered Lemon chicken with chili, ginger, pepper sauce with garlic potatoes, Pork fillet stew with basil, leek, garlic, chili with basmati rice, Regenten's lasagna, Seafood soup with aioli. My expectations were high, this type of lunch restaurant located in an industrial area usually offers generous and well-prepared home cooking. Perhaps my expectations were set a little too high, at least by half. It was as if the kitchen had two chefs, one of whom was having a slightly worse day. The lemon chicken with chili, ginger, pepper sauce and garlic potatoes consisted of juicy fried mildly spiced chicken thigh fillet, a round and creamy pepper sauce and pleasantly buttery fried potatoes. The seafood soup surprised me with its depth of flavor and aroma, a rich, well-cooked soup that added more flavor. The caramelized notes from the slow-cooked cream blended nicely with the lobster stock and tomato, and gave a pleasant and finely tuned experience. Unfortunately, the aioli was thick and brusque, probably pure industrial mayonnaise with garlic that didn't add much. The soft bread wasn't as nice, day-old and dry, not even the margarine could save the mouthfeel. The regent's lasagna was a completely new experience, I've never eaten this dish with shredded falu sausage mixed with the minced meat before. It felt like the kitchen had the brilliant idea of ​​using up some leftovers. Unfortunately, it didn't add anything positive, and the lasagna was just a strange experience in both taste and texture. The pork fillet stew was supposed to contain pork fillet, but the meat in the stew was so stringy that it was more reminiscent of pork shoulder. There was a slight touch of pork in the taste, which took away the pleasant feeling I had expected. The seasoning was also very mild and restrained, which made the slightly unpleasant taste of pork stand out. In terms of appearance, it looked much nicer than it turned out to be. Gingerbread cookies were served with the coffee, unfortunately the coffee was a brewed coffee that had been left on its hot plate for a little too long and had acquired a burnt tone. I left the restaurant with a mixed impression, and it will probably be a while before I return.
