About Röke sockengille is the local history association in what was until 1951 Röke municipality, the current Röke parish and the villages of Sjöholma and Värsjö. The association was formed in March 1997 by a group of enthusiasts under the leadership of Arne Arvidsson, who was then the parish guild's first chairman. In the autumn of 1997, the current parish cottage was purchased by Bengt-Åke Kjellsson, a property from 1887, very well located in the middle of Röke, opposite the church on Bjärnums-/Vittsjövägen. The association's tasks are partly to document the area in words and pictures, and partly to arrange suitable events, internally and for the public. The documentation has resulted in several books and films. The archive contains more than 4,000 photos from 1870 to the present. The film material from 1950 onwards is available on CD. Ancient monuments and farmsteads have been provided with GPS coordinates and marked with signs. The public range of events is presented twice a year in the magazine "Information from Röke Sockengille" and on the website under Activities. Recurring in the program for several years have been cemetery walks, village walks, national and local history days, the village's joint Christmas market, collaboration with the church at church services and church coffee on the second Advent, family rally, bicycle orientation with cultural sites as controls. In addition, open houses are arranged in the parish house with varying themes. The number of members is approximately 280. The association is happy to see new members. .
