Svaneholms Herrgård

No one at the reception at arrival, had to google their number and call to get our room. The website states a restaurant but there is non. The room we got was smelling with mould, and the the bathroom was full of it. I think we expected better. 😀 The place is located a the best possible place looking out over a lake, nice walking paths and a sauna.

We visited pre-season but that is not really an excuse considering several aspects of a 10 day visit. The location is great. It is an old Swedish 18th century manor with a beatiful lake, lawns, trees and a red wooden church close by. The decor inside is nice but flawed at the same time. Bathroom tiny. No glasses to be used when brushing your teeth. No plug to use a shaver. We sent two emails in advance but got no responses. You have to take of your shoes despite it being a hotel. The receptionist is a nice guy but foreign and hardly speaks any languages. The beds are made once a week and towels are changed weekly as well. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room. No TV. All in all. Not so great. Next time we choose Edsleskogs Wärdshus.

We are so happy that we picked Svaneholm Hotel for our three day stay. The view from the property is breathtaking. As it‘s very calm, the place is perfect for taking a break. The rooms were alright and had everything we needed. In the left wing, there is a pool table that is free for all to use.
