This manor house can also be visited as a museum. However, if you're lucky, you might find yourself celebrating typical Swedish festivities, or perhaps you're invited to a booked event. I was there for Midsummer, which is celebrated in Vuxna on the extensive grounds of this manor. The restaurant offered a Swedish buffet at the manor house for the occasion. I took advantage of this opportunity! The restaurant in the manor house isn't open all the time. You visit the house as a museum because it has been preserved in its original state. There's a small wax museum to see, and afterward, you might sit on the veranda and have a coffee. From high above, you have a view over the pretty center of the small village, the old buildings, and the small river that's dammed here. The buffet, by the way, was a journey through the historical delicacies of Swedish cuisine, dominated by various fish dishes, accompanied by game and beef. So, if catering is available during your visit to Vuxna and the museum, make a reservation!
