Mekonomen Bilverkstad Ängelholm / MEKO Workshops Ängelholm

After replacing the timing belt at Mekonomen, my car had engine problems. At first I was told that the fault was not covered by the warranty (camshaft gear), but another workshop showed that it was a matter of timing belt adjustment (error code P0017). Mekonomen eventually fixed the fault as a complaint, but the process took a long time and communication was poor. I was without a car for a long time and found the matter very stressful.

One of the worst workshops I have ever experienced, I will never set foot there again. The first warning bell rang when I handed in the car for a turbo replacement, a leak at the control shaft. Then they called and wondered why I wanted the turbo replaced because there was nothing wrong with it. I then had to inform them that this model has 2 turbos and explain where they should look. I have worked as a mechanic myself for 30 years, 10 of which as a car mechanic, and customer service representative, if it hadn't been an insurance matter I would have fixed it myself. After 8 weeks nothing happened, tried to call them for 1.5 weeks about 5-10 times a day and left messages with no one hearing back. The insurance company has also tried to contact them. Patience ran out and brought the car home again. How Mekonomen can let this workshop bear their name is beyond criticism.

If they destroy your car, they say you have to pay and they want to replace parts that have nothing to do with the problem. It felt completely unreal to have contact with this company. Luckily, I got the car out before it became scrap and without them having to start working on it. Saved me from 20,000 SEK to over 200,000 SEK. They are tarnishing Mekonomen's name.
