Excellent food and service. The home made bread is delicious. One of the best lunch restaurants in town in the 160-200 SEK price range. The only thing I was missing compared to other restaurant is a richer salad buffet.
I can only review the (as a Level 6 member, free) breakfast as I have not been staying at this Scandic hotel yet. Although the breakfast buffet is pretty small compared to many other, bigger Scandic hotels around Sweden and Norway, the breakfast lives up to Scandic excellence. If it is worth paying the high price though everybody have to decide for themselves.
The wait times are terrible. Only one person working there cares about drop-in customers. At one point there were 10 customers in line and even though there were plenty of staff sitting at their desks working on whatever they were doing, there was only one person taking care of the drop-in customers. It took me almost two hours to get a five minute job done. Very sad for a bank that we think should be rich enough to employ enough people to take care of the customers who ultimately pay their salaries.

For those who know Lidl: It is what you expect, just a bit smaller than most other Lidl stores. For those who do not know Lidl: The cheapest supermarket in town. The only issue I have is that, sometimes, they are understaffed and it takes a while until it is your turn to pay. So in rush hours, bring some time and patience.

The first McDonalds I have visited in my life that does not understand the principle of a "fast food" restaurant. That said, have you ever encountered a McDonalds (or similiar chain) that opens its doors at 10am and closes down at 8pm? No? Welcome to Östersund, where the impossible is made possible. Whether you are looking for something fast to eat or a coffee before work, or something fast to eat after work, I would recommend you to go elsewhere if you don't want to stand in front of closed doors (or want to wait 15-20 minutes for a simple burger!)
