A traditional lunch restaurant. Big space, somewhat modern style, and very airy. Can seat a lot of people. I visited on a Monday. So-so salad buffet, several food options. Meat, fish, vegetarian. I got the fish. Not too happy with the food. The fish didn’t taste much at all, a couple of the potatoes were bad, and overall a somewhat sad meal. And it wasn’t cheap either. But the place was clean, and there aren’t many options in the area. And considering they have multiple options you’ll have something to eat.
Small, but nice mini forest near the fire station. It’s not a very long walk to go around the whole place, but still worth it, as it’s well maintained. There’s a parking lot for about 10 cars, and a small barbecue area a few hundred meters into the forest. A sign will show you the way. A good place for a short walk or a run. Too bad you can hear the traffic from the highway quite loud.

Fin deg, bra pålägg. Stället är nytt så möblerna är fina. Men planlösningen är inte så bra. Parkeringsplatserna är också trånga. Sammantaget ganska bra.
Det är ett traditionellt kafé mitt i ett köpcentrum med massor av moderna kaféer, vilket gör det intressant. Kakorna och bakverken är ganska bra, kaffet är sådär och sittgruppen behöver en uppdatering. Särskilt sofforna som är onödigt låga. Jag har varit här några gånger och även om man får lite vila från köpcentrets myller är det fortfarande ganska bullrigt. Sist jag var där fick jag deras semla, vinnare av lokaltidningens stadstävling. Den var ganska god. Men kaffet smakade bränt.
A pretty good, Asian restaurant with a quite large dining area. Fancier than your average Thai food place. I was here as part of a larger gathering and while it’s a nice space, it’s also loud. They have smartly added some curtain like thing in the roof, but it’s still noisy. Even though there were a lot of us, we got our food rather quickly. I had ordered the fish soup, with several types of fish in it. It was well made, with a lot of spices. It was fine. That said, most other people lived their food, so I’d still recommend Yoko if you want slightly more interesting Asian food in a nice setting.
Interesting coffee shop with a different offering than you’d expect. Less cake, more fruit. I like the idea. However, like the name suggests, everything offered is sweet and covered in chocolate or some other sugary sauce. Great if you’re in the mode for a banana split, less so if you want a croissant. I just got a coffee. The service was quick, and the coffee was fine. The space was clean, and quite large. I think the place easily seats 50 or so people, in multiple rooms. When I visited there was only a few of us though. As mentioned above, it’s a great place for fruit salads, churros and sweet waffles. If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll love this place.
Nice library with not just a lot of books, but also a nice coffee shop, and tons of magazines from around the world. I went to get my library card and it took maybe 5 minutes to get. Very easy to do and the staff was helpful. Even though there were quite a few people in there, it wasn’t crowded. There are a lot of seats everywhere. Both for reading and working.
Really sad to write that this was a sub-par experience. The high scoring reviews made me look forward to trying the ramen here. I got the chicken ramen and unfortunately it wasn’t good. At all. I don’t know if I’ve ever had chicken broth I didn’t like before, but this one didn’t do it for me. Also, the chicken pieces weren’t properly chopped up and they were full of fat. Great for cooking, less so for serving. At least at this price point. The noodles were ok though. And the space seemed ok. I got a squeaky chair and they’d left the door to the bathroom open, which didn’t enhance the experience as it was clearly visible from the dining area. I noted in the menu that they have a lot of sushi. Might be a better option, but I didn’t try it. And probably won’t.
Small place focusing on, as the name suggests, on hummus. Very niche, but for that reason also fun. I got a a falafel plate and got a plate with hummus, three rather large falafels, and a basket with pita bread. The falafels were delicious, and scooping up the hummus with hot pita was top notch. Eating on site was not great though. It’s a small place, and quite noisy. But it’s doable. Especially if you’re on your own.
Food court restaurant with a focus on simple classics. Meatballs, steak, salmon and stuff like that. I got the chicken with potatoes, one of two dishes you can get immediately. Chicken was fine, potatoes a bit rubbery. The seating area was pretty clean, but it’s hardly a great atmosphere. Still, the noise level was low.
So this was an odd one. Nils H is located in the middle of what looks like an industrial area, surrounded by car repair shops and similar businesses. And the entrance could just as well have been to a small factory. But inside you get a classic restaurant, with old school furniture and overall style. Highly unexpected. Even though it’s a lunch restaurant, you get table service. And the service is quick, which makes sense as it’s a small place. The menu is filled with classic offerings. I went with the fish, and got it after maybe 10 minutes. It tasted great. The fish, the sauce, the potatoes were all well made. And after the lunch I got a small dessert with my coffee that was also quite nice. Overall an unexpectedly good experience. It’s not in a fun setting, but food-wise it was well worth the trip.
A nice sushi restaurant at the entrance of Maria Park. Not very big, but there are a few tables inside, and also outside if you happen to come here on a nice day. I got the Yakiniku. It was perfectly fine but nothing special. My colleague got a large sushi plate and clearly made the better choice. Other than the food, the place was really clean and well kept. The service was also good and the owner friendly. I’ll for sure visit again and then go nuts on the raw fish. Note that they have vegetarian alternatives also.
A local pizza place with some alternatives, in case you don’t like the Italian stuff. Seats both inside and outside. An odd thing is that they don’t have any kind of large menu for you to look at. You’re directed to the small paper menus. Perfectly fine, but a bit uncommon. After a bit off digging around among the options, I decided on a chicken wrap. Had to wait for maybe 20 minutes. It was a busy evening with quite a bit of traffic. Luckily there were good seats available, and a big screen showing some sport. Overall the place looked clean and well kept. When I got the food, I was satisfied. A proper roll, filled with veggies and a decent amount of chicken. Tasted really well. Can recommend if you’re in the neighbourhood. Of the three pizza places in the area I think I have to say this is the best one.
One of the most interesting movie experiences I’ve had in Sweden. In a positive way. Unlike most other places, Spegeln encourages eating during the movie. You can even order food and drinks throughout the film. This creates a very relaxed feeling. Also, the seating is great. Not as cramped as in normal cinemas. Overall a great place, and for sure my preferred one going forward. Hardcore movie buffs might want to go elsewhere though, as there will be things happening around you.
It’s not everyday you happen upon a Scottish restaurant in Sweden. So when I passed by Drumbar I had to give it a go. Overall it’s pretty similar to any UK or Ireland style bar. A few flags and some smaller details help you remember that this setting is from Scotland. I got a Beyond a Burger and an IPA. Got the food after maybe 20 minutes. When it arrived, the fake cheese made the burger look a bit sad. That said, it tasted just fine. Very basic fries. The beer was good, if a bit expensive for a non alcoholic one. Overall I’d say this is a decent pub. Especially if you can find a place outside in a sunny day.
A mini restaurant / coffee place in the middle of a small forest. Really nice place. But come for the location, not the food. Their main focus seems to be on waffles, so I got a salmon waffle and a non alcoholic beer. That set me back a bit over 200 sek. I got the good after maybe 5 minutes and while they tried to make it look nice, they only got halfway there. The waffle dough residue was still there and they only partially removed the apple core. Taste was ok. The waffle was really crispy, almost to a fault. But there was a good amount of salmon in the mix. At the price it was a bit underwhelming. But then again, the setting makes it worth a visit.
Helt okej, om än medelmåttigt, pizzeria. De har inte så mycket konkurrens i närheten, men försöker ändå hålla det trevligt. Lunch kan fås för 99 kronor, vilket är ganska bra. Verkade dock vara främst för pizzor. Jag bestämde mig för att prova halloumiburgaren istället. Fick den ganska snabbt, med lite pommes frites vid sidan av. Den såg inte särskilt god ut, men smakade faktiskt bra. Jag gillade särskilt att den kom med mycket paprika. Inte alltför vanligt. Pommes fritesen var dock lite meh. Och de serverade ketchup och majonnäs blandat i samma behållare. Konstigt.
A small coffee shop operated by at least one dane. Of course that means that they have classic smørrebrøds, meaning small rye sandwiches. I tried the different ones. Shrimps, roast beef and plaice. Three classics for these mini sandwiches. All of them were fine. None stood out in any direction. But if I had to choose, I’d pick the plaice as the winner. It took a while to get the food, but the place was packed and the owner literally ran back and forth. A for effort. Also, very friendly guy. As a novelty I think it’s a good place to visit. I do think you can get better smørrebrød elsewhere in the city, but it’s nice to get danish food from a proper dane.
This place managed to beat my expectations food wise. I visited on a Friday and was treated to a really good meal. The daily special was pork fillet with potatoes and mushrooms. Unlike most lunch places the food was handled with care. The meat was good. As were the potatoes and the mushrooms. Plus the sauce. Only the salad buffet was so-so. The place isn’t too fun though. It’s located on top of a car dealership in the middle of an industrial zone. And while it was clean enough, it felt like I was back at school. Still, the food made it all worth it.
A small ice cream shop by Otto & Glassfabriken. I think the brand is based in Åhus but can now be found everywhere. Which is a good thing, of course. They had 13 different flavors when I visited. Nothing out of the ordinary. Chocolate, vanilla and stuff like that. I went with the mango sorbet. Two scoops. And I got a huge cone filled way above the brim. A proper meal! Tasted fine. Nothing special. Cold sugar. But the cone was tastier than the normal once you get in places like this. At 55 sek it’s well worth it. Is almost what GB charges nowadays. And this was way better than that. Also, very friendly service. They seemed really happy to be working there. Maybe they are on a constant sugar rush!
A pizza place with a clear Italian style. So maybe I should have taken the hint and not gotten a Greek salad. But I did and it wasn’t great. Or even good. A shame really because it seems like a good place. Next time I’ll try a pizza and see how that turns out. My colleague got one and liked it, so there’s that.
Ok, so this was a randomly really good. Just happened to walk by, decided to try it out and was positively surprised. The burger was five star. Super tasty. Just the perfect mix of meat, bun and salad. And served properly, not sloppy. Top notch! The fries were just so-so though. I wish I had gone with the sweet potato ones instead. Still, they weren’t bad. The place itself is a standard burger joint. Pretty basic, and somewhat small, but it works if you’re in your own or just have a friend with you. Go there and try the burger.
It’s been a good long while since I’ve had a falafel roll. It might even have been all the way back to the glorious No 1 days. And oh boy have I’ve been missing out. This place is supposed to have among the best falafels in the city and I believe it. They are excellent. Fresh and tasty. And at the price they’re hard to beat. There was quite a line when I got there but I still had my food within 5 minutes. They are quick. And it’s well worth the wait. It won’t be years until I come back, that’s for sure.
Small sushi place that’s part of a larger chain. Fine overall, and seemed pretty clean. I decided in one of the few non-raw options, chicken Teriyaki. It was a bowl style dish with rice and pickles. It was ok, even though it looked quite different on the image. Ordering is self service. Click through a screen with many pages of upselling. Annoying. There’s limited parking outside. It was full when I visited, even though the restaurant wasn’t too crowded. Guess it’s used by others as well.
Overall a nice place for lunch and/or dinner. Friendly service and pretty good food. Note that they didn’t seem to have any daily specials when we visited. I got a lasagna, which the place is apparently known for. It was very cheesy, even for lasagna, but still pretty good. The seating area was nice and the seats outdoors give you a good sense of the city pulse. Nice. The biggest drawback is the somewhat limited menu. A few pasta dishes, some pizzas and some salad options. That’s pretty much it. But they’ve picked good options.
A small take away place with the classic offerings. Stuff like pizza, burgers and kebab. I tried a halloumi burger and some fries. Pretty average. I liked that the veggies seemed fresh, but the dressing wasn’t really to my taste. Service was quick and the guy was friendly enough. Price is in the higher side for a place like this, but not too bad.
A small thai restaurant mainly focused on takeaway. And they do that really well. Quick and friendly service, good food and really inexpensive. Everything I got was well received at home. And the portions were quite large. Nice rice as well. I especially found the spring rolls to be above average. Fresh and tasty. The sauce was a bit average though.
A good motorcycle and scooter dealer mainly focused on Honda. Also has a good assortment pf dirt bikes. They have most bikes from their main brand on-site and they’ll gladly let you test them. Also, there are a handful of used bikes. The biggest drawback is that it’s mainly one brand. Many other store have at least a few different ones, making it easier to test bikes back-to-back. But if you love Honda, this is almost as good as it gets.
A small coffee oasis in an otherwise not so interesting area. Nice places to sit both inside and outside. It’s a proper bakery so you have a lot of options both in terms of bread and pastries. What I’ve tried is really good. Coffee and tea is also fine and they offer pay much all the standard stuff. They do, however charge extra for oat milk, I think. Quick and friendly service as well. Biggest drawback is the lack of parking and the somewhat small seating area inside.

The drinks and cakes are really good, service is quick and friendly. Prices are high, but no higher than any other coffee shop. The seating area feels good and you can choose several different styles. No matter if it’s a big group or you want to sit alone. You’ll find a place.
Really nice place far out on the pier. Great location if you want to look out over the ocean and see all the small boats come and go. The service was excellent. It’s not a huge place, but service was still quicker and friendlier than expected. A lot of friendly chitchat took the mood of the whole place to a high level. Food was also very good. I got the fish-of-the-week, which happened to be tuna. It was served with cherry potatoes. Overall a really good place that I’ll visit again for sure.
A somewhat worn down, but still nice burger place with a friendly and quick staff. I got the classic, with some fries, and it took less than 5 minutes. Not bad. The burger was tasty, but the sauce a bit plain. The fries were a bit too crunchy for my taste. Too much time in the fryer. On a side note, finding parking was rough. You have to look for a spot on the street.

Went here to buy a computer that Apple didn’t have available immediately. The stock count on the web proved to be correct. Got there, got my computer with no fuss. They also mentioned they keep a copy of my receipt under my name in case I lose the original, which is neat. The seller wasn’t the talkative type, but that’s fine with me. The store is quite small, but you can look at most Apple products and buy a bunch of accessories for computers, phones and tablets. Prices are about the same as what Apple charges. Overall it seemed pretty good for the Macheads out there.
A small restaurant focusing on dumplings. Very niche and not a common sight. Luckily this one is really good. I got 10 mixed dumplings. Steamed. And they were excellent. Both the dough and the filling were top notch. Probably the best dumplings I’ve had in Sweden. The place is quite small, but there are a few seats available. Not great for families though. It seems that the focus is on take out. Highly recommended. I will for sure come back here and try out more items on the menu.
Really nice showroom for a bunch of silent brands. Especially fun to see newer, Chinese cars that are still uncommon. The top floor shows off all the new cars. Downstairs you’ll find 50+ used cars of different brands. There was decent amount of salespeople in the showroom when I visited, so you’ll get the help you need quickly.
Update: a couple of visits later, I’m bumping this up a star. Tried both the pizza and burger buffet and they’re really good. Thumbs up 👍 Old: Preliminary review score is a 3/5. I had high expectations, based on the really nice place. Smartly done. They offer pizza, hamburger, pastries and a lot more in an interesting environment with fun design. The food, however, wasn’t great. I got a Shroom pizza as takeaway and it was doughy with partially cold mushrooms. I’ll give it another shot on-site to better understand if I was unlucky or if it’s not a place for me.
