Riktigt härligt ställe. Vi bodde i en stuga och elvärmen höll oss varma under -25°C utomhus. Vi eldade också upp skorstenen i stugan, men bara lite för stilens skull och inte direkt av nödvändighet. …

Really lovely place. We stayed at a cabin and the electrical heating kept us warm during the -25°C outside. We also fired up the chimney in the cabin but only a little for the flair and not really out of necessity. The obvious highlight of staying here is having reindeers around and also beeing able to feed them in the morning after your own breakfast in the main tipi. During summertimes most of the reindeers of the lodge are released into the wild and only the older ones that do not leave during the release are kept at the sami museum nearby (tickets for the museum are included if you stay at the lodge). But there should be several wild ones in the surrounding area anyway. The reindeer lodge is directly at the water front. During our stay we could not swimm in it but walk over it to the village. But I would say it is lovely to stay there all year around. The sauna is also really lovely I really liked the size was not to big or to small. Nice for the two of us and would have fitted 8-10 people without feeling like canned sardines ;). There is also quite a big hot tub which is heated by wood. Often is more luke warm but it is always hard with such tubs to get it to a good temperature and an even distribution of the heat in the water. But it is still quite nice. Important for the winter take slippers with you, our feet almost froze to the ground while opening or closing the lid of the tub. The kitchen utils are basic but useable eventhou might small if a lot of people are staying at the lodge as it is a shared area. But during summer you would only need it for lunch and dinner. During winter a dinner is also included at the restaurant "otvass" (you get transported there via shuttle) and the meals are all really really good.
