This is by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a transportation company. During my trip with FlixBus, my backpack was lost. Inside were personal belongings of great value to me. From the very first moment, the company showed complete indifference. I tried contacting customer service multiple times, but all I got were automated responses and robotic messages. No real human support. No real help. Just silence and excuses. Days later, I finally managed to recover my backpack… only to realize that several personal items had been STOLEN. When I reported this to FlixBus, hoping for at least some responsibility or empathy, their response was absolutely insulting: they sent me an automatic message saying they were “sorry for my loss”… without even reading my complaint properly. They didn’t acknowledge the theft. They didn’t offer help. They didn’t investigate. They didn’t care. This shows a shocking lack of professionalism, security, and basic respect for customers. If your belongings matter to you, think twice before trusting FlixBus. Losing your luggage is bad enough — but being ignored, dismissed, and treated like you don’t matter at all is unacceptable. I would never recommend this company to anyone. FlixBus means risking your belongings and being left completely alone when something goes wrong. FlixBus failed me in every possible way.
During my trip with FlixBus, I accidentally left my backpack on the bus. What followed revealed a shocking level of disorganization, lack of control, and total indifference toward customers. After several days of receiving nothing but automated, generic responses, I managed to recover my backpack entirely by myself. It was located at one of FlixBus’s partner offices (as they do not operate their own), while at the same time FlixBus was still claiming through their system that they were “searching for the item.” This clearly demonstrates that they had no real tracking, coordination, or understanding of where the luggage actually was. When I finally opened the backpack, I discovered that several personal items were missing and had clearly been stolen while it was under their responsibility. I immediately reported this to FlixBus, expecting at least an investigation or some acknowledgment of responsibility. Instead, I received yet another automated message saying they were “sorry for my loss,” making it obvious that my complaint had not even been properly read or understood. It was just another automated reply sent to close the case. At no point did FlixBus investigate the incident, offer support, or take responsibility. All communication was reduced to impersonal, automated messages designed to dismiss the customer rather than help them. Do not waste your time calling their phone number — no human will answer. If you are in a similar situation, your only real chance of getting help is speaking directly to the drivers, who were the only people willing to assist. Forgetting an item on a bus can happen. Having it mishandled, poorly tracked, returned with stolen contents, and then being ignored by the company is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend FlixBus. If something goes wrong, do not expect real support, accountability, or basic respect as a customer.
Overbooked bus and unsafe conditions I was a passenger on a FlixBus journey where the bus was clearly overbooked. Several people who had valid tickets were not even allowed to board, and some of them missed spending Christmas with their families because of this. Inside the bus, the situation was unacceptable and unsafe: one passenger was lying on the floor trying to sleep, two had to stand for several hours, and another person was sitting on the stairs for the whole trip. This is not what you expect after buying a ticket in advance. Also, the bathroom was broken but the two stops lasted 4 minutes and 10 minutes? People had to use the bathroom with no water. This was not only extremely uncomfortable, but also a serious safety issue. FlixBus should take responsibility and stop overbooking buses, especially during peak times like the holidays. I definitely would not recommend this service based on this experience.
